Looking For A Good Point And Shoot Digital Camera - Canon G9?

I would like to have a digital camera that takes good pics of wildlife, nature and the soccer team that I coach. The soccer pictures would be action shots and are sometimes 30+ yards away from me. What about the Canon G9, 12.1 megapixel? Anybody have one of these or know anything about them?

Don't know that one but I have a Sony A100 that works pretty well.
