Fishing Buddy Don House Posted November 16, 2007 Fishing Buddy Posted November 16, 2007 Had the chance to go out today in my new toy and try to break it in.. Drove around for a little and then started fishing, went over to point 5 and worked back to 86 Hwy Bridge, was able to catch 4 nice fish in the first couple of hours. Still catching fish down deep in anything over 45 feet of water drop shot was it, tried spoons but still only one small fish, they would come right up to it then swim away. Really starting to see shad bunching up alot fish where right below them, seems the wind was pushing them up along the bluff's on the main lake. Pay attention to our little friends the sea gulls they really pointed out the shad today. Fishing out on the main lake stuff, trees, and deep points. Also found a pattern with small Eakins jigs around some of the larger docks, flipping into stalls with wind coming in on them. Brown and Orange and Green Pumpkin colors was working for me. Also ran into a guide out on the lake with some clients they were doing well on main lake points with wind catching some nice small mouth with wiggle warts and according to him they were shallow, anything under 15 feet with wind. Weather stays nice I will try to go out again next week early, If I find anything really good I will report.. Everyone have a great Thanksgiving!!! Capt. Don Capt. Members HUNTER Posted November 18, 2007 Members Posted November 18, 2007 Fished last 2 days with Friday being a little better than today.wind helps big time. FB jigs and Wiggle Warts. Very nice smallies and some great LM on those Wiggle Warts shallow (3-10 feet) on chunk rock creek channels. The best bite is smallies on your favorite spot with a FB jig from 4 to 5:30p.m. Caught a limit of nice smallies in about 30 minutes tonight. It's awesome weather and the fishing is only getting better. Almost time to really start chasing those shad. Happy T-Day to all and good fishing.

denjac Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 Don, maybe you can earn some extra winter money pushing the Branson Belle with that new boat. Noticed it has a tug pushing it around, heard a gearbox went out on it. All kidding aside your new boat should work well when the boat traffic gets bad. Dennis Boothe Joplin Mo. Gary Lange Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 I took a look at one on the computer Don and it looks to be a great Guide Boat. My second boat was the Tracker Targa 1900 Walleye Rig that I ran on Lake Michigan often and inland lake like Kentucky. I alway felt safe in that boat and it road big water like a champ. Sold it to a guy in Canada who was going to use it to fish Walleye Tournaments. Talk to him a few months back and he still love it. Respect your Environment and others right to use it!
Fishing Buddy Don House Posted November 20, 2007 Author Fishing Buddy Posted November 20, 2007 Gary, so why did you get rid of the Tracker? Yes, I really like this new boat, really makes clients feel safe and comfortable, tons of room and it really handles the rough water well and has all of the bells and whistles more than I thought. It has an T8 hp Yamaha 4 stroke added on I will use it for crappie season for trolling the bluff trees and spoonbill snagging season and trout fishing on Taneycomo, can't wait to really get it out and play with it. Denjac, I seen the bell being pushed around the other day, now I know why! Good Fishing Everyone.. Capt. D Capt. J.E. Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 Don, Heading out in a few. Call me. Starting at Indian Pt.
Gary Lange Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 The motor blew on it and I wanted a Bass Boat so I got it fixed and in the mean time ordered a New Cobra 201D Bass Boat. My good friend owned Venom Boats at the time and was Building the Cobra. I love my Cobra. You forgot backtrolling for Walleye on Bull Shoals or the White River arm of Table Rock.
