Beadhead, I haven't heard of the W2 egg, could you be referring to the Y2K?

Dano, nope not a Y2K.

My buddy was down at Tanny 2 weeks ago. He talked to a few guys down near rebar / big hole and they said a red W2 egg is what you need.

Like you, I have never heard of such an egg pattern.

I did a google on it and it comes up on Brett's (chartered waters site).

But no details/materials on it. Guess I need to order some from Brett...

I've been looking without luck to find the recipe myself. I believe that fly orginated with Brett down at Chartered Waters fly shop. They aren't on his web site, but I think he has them at his shop.

They are available through Chartered Waters although he doesn't show them on his website. An egg pattern Brett developed that has been working extremely well this year and will probably get better with the rainbow spawn on the way.

This pattern is something a little different than most eggs and seems to get more looks than the typical yarn egg.

I can't tell for sure, but it looks like a red with some white stuff hanging from it? Maybe it's got a some white hair trailing it to look like milt or something?

If I make it down there, I will have to swing by his shop and pick some flies up from him. He has some real killer patterns it appears.
