Kansas Fly Fisher
Will probably head out after I get off work Monday morning. I'll leave Pittsburg around 8:00 a.m. (barring any unforeseen early morning emergencies) if anyone is interested in hooking up for a day of fishing. Kansas Fly Fisher
I'll be driving a Blue Jeep Liberty and will probably start up around the hatchery and work my way down. The afternoon will most likely find me in the fly zone. I'll have on an orange OAF hat. Hope to see ya there. Members Bill McC
John; If you are in the Pittsburg area we need to hook up, for coffee sometime and make some plans. I am also in the area. Used to fish Roaring alot. But for the drive distance I perfer Taney these days. Going to learn the wading areas there a little better. Kansas Fly Fisher
Sounds good Bill. I actually live in Erie, but I work for Crawford County EMS. I run out of station 2 (the one by Twisters). I'll PM you my cell phone, some coffee and stories sound good to me. I actually like Taney better myself, but RR is still a good spot during the C&R season. John Born to Fish, Forced to Work KSMEDIC.COM
Kansas Fly Fisher
Got a late start (didn't get out of work til 9:00 a.m.) but headed that way. Met up with Marty (Catman) and spent the day fishing up around the park store. It was a difficult day of fishing, but I was able to coax three to hand. One went about 2 lbs, the rest were average stockers. Marty also got a few to hand. Now Tim, was a different story. I don't know how many he landed but let's just say every time I looked his way, the rod was bent! There a some nice fish swimming around in the pools, especially the third pool downstream from the bridge by the park store. A lot of very nice size fish, just couldn't convince them they wanted what I had. I'll be back for sure. For me, I tried a ruby midge, a crackleback, a ginger bugger and a small olive pine squirrel. Got lots of looks, but as I said earlier, very few takers. Still a great day to be out. Nice talking with ya Marty, hopefully we can meet up again. Bill - got your PM, I'll give ya call and we can swap stories over some coffee. John Born to Fish, Forced to Work KSMEDIC.COM
