Was there anyone fishing during the weekend.. as the storm hit??

Its my understanding that the wind REALLY kick up hard as the front hit the dam... and the wind was unbelieveable...

around outlet 2...a water spout formed and blow down stream toward the rebar hole... knocking over a few fishermen... nobody got hurt..which is a good thing..

Was there anyone there that saw this??

Whoa, that'd been a good picture....except for the guys getting tossed around.

I'm guessing a big whirlwind. I've seen some as big as houses across the base out in New Mexico. That is quite a sight. Around here, I saw one once in a snow covered field that was about 40 foot at the base and went about 100 feet high. Looked like snow tornado...on a cold, sunny, clear, day.

A water spout it actually a tornado over water. I've never seen one of those....yet. Shoot, I've lived my whole life in "Tornado Alley", and never have seen a tornado.

Not I, but I was hunting in the woods this weekend when a storm blew thru on Sunday and it rained harder than I have ever seen it come down! We took cover under a cedar tree and could not see more than 30 feet in front of us!!

My son was down there then. He said ir blew hard enough it spooked him and he went to the truck. Didn't say anything about a water spout though.

I was there at the time the storm hit hard. I spent 45 min in the parking lot waiting things out so i could not see the details on the water.

On the other hand, I broke camp at the state park right before things got wild and it was warm and I worked up a sweat. On my way to the dam, I had to do all I could two separate times to keep my van on the road. It was rather tornadic since cold was displacing warm and a tornado later appeared in southern Missouri. On my way to the dam I saw two different whirlwinds that picked up a good bundle of leaves and spiraled them up to 30 feet or so.

I was down Sunday when it went from shirt sleeve weather to cold and rainy. The wind was up, but I did not see any thing out of the ordinary. It did move the leaves around and get the branches creeking.
