am4mu Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 Just checking to see if the ice is getting anyone else. Here in Independence, Mo it is not doing much right now. However did go out to pickup a prescription this morning and the roads were a mess. Did not look bad but were extremely slick. Supposedly we are supposed to get more of the same into Sunday and Tuesday might be really rough. Just can't stand antoher long term power outage(been through that twice). Even considered going down to Branson to ride this thing out but a one year old labrador kind of squashes that. Hope everyone is ok and please be careful if you do have to go out. WebFreeman Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 Fog in Republic (outside of Spfd.) We were out for a week last year. Spent a few days is Branson. This year I got a little propane heater and my camping gear organized. We're going to ride out anything that happens. “Many go fishing all their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after.” — Henry David Thoreau Visit my web site @ webfreeman.com for information on freelance web design.
taxidermist Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 Foggy al day with a bit of rain off and on. Where the mid 50s they promised? HOpe Sunday is better, I have the new Merc on the boat and need to fish!
am4mu Posted December 9, 2007 Author Posted December 9, 2007 It is now Sunday morning and looks like we missed the rough stuff. We have one more band coming through and it is supposed to be over by mid afternoon. Our roads are slick but no power issues yet. It sounds as though Columbia has caught the brunt of what we thought we were going to get. One more good one is supposed to come through Tuesday and then back to normal. The Caddis Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 About a half inch of ice on the roads, trees and powerlines, was reezing rain, buthas since switched to sleet. Wouldn't get out now if I had to. Plenty of hooks to tie with, wife is cooking away, if only the kids were at the grandparents.
