Thom Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 This morning I went down to outlet 1 about 10 am. Two guys fishing and two units running. Moved down to outlet 2 and had it to myself. I tyed on a # 12 hares ear and began catching from the first cast. I landed 4 bows and one small brown and then switched to a small multi colored egg and caught two stockers and lost several. Switched to a # 18 zebra midge with a copper bead head and black thread and copper wire wrap. I began to pick a hit or a fish on every two or three drifts. I was fishing it about 12” below the indicator. The water started to drop and to my surprise the fishing got hotter for the next 15 or so minutes. I had to go back to the condo for a meeting and it started to rain anyway. I plan to return again before dark. Thom Harvengt
fly2fish Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 Thom, glad you made it back to Taney, one of these nights you, Leonard and me are going to have to get together again and do some night fishing. Henry
Thom Posted December 13, 2007 Author Posted December 13, 2007 Hey Henry, Sounds like a great idea. I have a new 8 weight rod and am looking forward to using it. It has been a great week. No pics cause I aM Standing in fast water most of the time, but I have caught and released some real prettly fish. They seem to be really full of color and fight. They have been running lots of water this week but there are no crowds at the outlets. One more day left and I will problally come back in January. Thom Harvengt
fly2fish Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Thom, looks like when I get back from Georgia I will have several weeks of tree clean up at my house. Still without electricity since Saturday night. I tried my new 8 wt G. Loomis reel that I got the day before we fished together in November, the other night mated to my old Heddon Challenger rod and it was casting like a dream until ice started freezing in the guides. Hope to make it back up not to long after New Years. Glad you are keeping their lips sore in my absence. HC
