TroutFearMe Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 Does anyone have an A-List of color and size of flies they like to use at Meremac during C&R. I am finally make my first trip down for catch and release season on Jan 7th, my last trip was scrubed in Dec because my future brother inlaw and fishing buddy was killed in a hunting incident on the day before me and him were going to fish C&R. This is going to be a tribute trip to him so any help would be greaty appretiated. Thank you in advance
Gavin Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 Sorry to hear about your fishing buddy. Best to you and your family. As for Meramec Springs...its open 7 days a week, so the fish are probably very picky. Mohair leaches and eggs will usually produce a few fish if your the first person through, after that youll probably want to switch over to some skinny tippet and some small scuds and midges. Scuds in the 16-20 range, and midges in the 18-24 range usually do the trick for me. Cheers.
