TroutBum4wt Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 I finally got to test my new Hook & Hackle DT-5-F hi-floater line yesterday and today on Taney. I tested the olive-colored line on both my bamboo and fiberglass rods and it really did well with casting and mending. It was not stiff and flowed through the guides with ease. Not bad for $33.95. I've read Cortland makes the line for Hook & Hackle. It's no different than a 444 Peach, other than color and price. I've seen this 30-yard line recommended for mainly bamboo rods, but I'm sure they'll work with any rig. You can check them out at hookhack.com Cheers!!! drew03cmc Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 This is a VERY popular line on vintage glass. In fact, I am grabbing a WF6F for my newest acquisition: 8'6" LL Bean (Phillipson) 3pc 6wt glass rod. Andy
Brian K. Shaffer Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 http://shop4.mailordercentral.com/hookhack...?number=WFF4PFL Use that link for the $25.00 'overrun' lines they always have. Usually do not get a pick on color though. They should always have 4's-5's-6's. Good lines... sure beats spending full price on a line (which is something I will never do). cheers, Brian Just once I wish a trout would wink at me! ozarkflyfisher@gmail.com I'm the guy wearing the same Simms longbilled hat for 10 years now.
Members Indiana Trout Posted September 3, 2009 Members Posted September 3, 2009 Agreed. I bought one as a "junk" line and found out it's better than some of my $50 lines...Absolutely cannot be beaten!!! dave potts Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 There was a thread on these lines over on the FAOL forum too. Several posted similar comments saying these were great lines, especially for the price. Dave
