Members TeamKingTuckey Posted February 6, 2006 Members Posted February 6, 2006 I have never been fishing on tanecomo other than with my fly rod. I havent ever taken my boat out on the lake..so I was wondering how to fish the area if I put in down by Lilley's... also what is the regulation on the permit for fishing above 65 bridge. My buddy is comeing in from Iraq and his dad want me to take them crappie fishing and trout fishing...but i want them to catch some fish so any tips...for the trout fishing? In search for "Papa Pump" ><(((*>
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted February 6, 2006 Root Admin Posted February 6, 2006 You need a stamp to fish above the 65 bridge. Use jig and float... you'll catch a bunch. Use a jig and bobber using smaller jigs such as 1/100 to 1/125th oz in marabou and micro jigs to 1/256th oz in brown, black, sculpin, ginger, pink, white or gray. Set the bobber 4-5 feet deep and look for choppy surface water. Now I'm not big on spoons but reports are kastmasters are doing well lately.
Members TeamKingTuckey Posted February 8, 2006 Author Members Posted February 8, 2006 And I can have them using spinning rods with this rig..?...like I said I havent been out in my boat on taneycomo so where exactly does the channel run there infront of lilley's, and is there much stucture to worry about hitting? Just up stream from the last resort (I can't remember the name) before the condos, stay to the bluff side, there is a gravel bar with stump at short creek. It eats alot of props. Also use light line 4lb. I tie a 4lb flourocarbon leader about 10-15 ft onto my main line it makes a noticable difference. Leave Some For Me!
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted February 8, 2006 Root Admin Posted February 8, 2006 Stop in a get a map at our office. It'll have the channel and gravel bars marked. You won't have much problems till you get up past Trout Hollow. As far as where to fish jig-n-float- any place really. Go into the gym (at the college) and ask for Vince. He's the king of jig-n-float.
Members Cheese slinger Posted February 8, 2006 Members Posted February 8, 2006 I'm a big spoon guy - I just think they're fun to fish and the trout really kill em when they hit - and I just got back from a 5 day trip at Lilley's and absolutely slayed them on spoons. The little cleo 1/8 ounce in the rainbow trout pattern or blue and silver were working best for me, but we had guys doing well on just about anything that was silver and flashy To be honest, this time of year it's hard not to catch fish if your line is in the water imo. Good luck to you sir.
Members SGFChief Posted February 9, 2006 Members Posted February 9, 2006 If you want to catch fish lilleys is a good start, as one mentioned before me the condos are a great starting place as well as just below fall creek. Powerbait in a combo of white or chartruse work well (as darn near any other color as well). Small neutral bouyant rapalas work as well. Better yet, pick up some drift rigs while you are at lilleys (half a buck each I think) and if they are running any current, drift with it (or the wind with not current) bouncing the rig ever so lightly on the bottom...hang on as about every 7th bounce will be a rainbow on the other end. Can't beat Taney for catching fish...good luck!

Don't forget about the black zebra midges also.
