Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted February 7, 2006 Root Admin Posted February 7, 2006 Just wanted to put a bug in your ear... and hopefully a big red "x" on your calendar: 2nd Annual YMCA Fishing for Families Lake Taneycomo Lilleys' Landing Resort & Marina Date: Monday, May 15, 2006 Format: Enter a full team of 4 people to fish out of one boat -or- Enter a team of 3 people to fish with a "guide" in his boat, with his tackle. So Pro's and Am's and fish this! Costs: $375 per team. If you're using one of our guides, each person pays $125 each. The guide donates his time, boat, tackle and gas. Otherwise, it's still $375 per team. Schedule: • Check-in starts at 7 a.m.- Of course you don't have to be here that early but we will have breakfast for those who come. • Instruction at 8:15 a.m. - We will hold a short-n-sweet Trout Fishing 101 course for those who have never fished for trout. • Drawing at 8:40 a.m. - For those who don't have a full team (with a guide), a drawing will be held to put guides with teams. • Briefing 8:45 a.m. - A briefing will be held at 8:45 a.m., quickly going over the rules, getting everybody into boats, life jackets on and hats pulled back. • Start fishing 9 a.m. - Leave the dock... you're off! • Weigh-in 1 p.m. - that’s when the fish hit the scales! Rules: • Each team is allowed to weigh 8 trout- (2 per person.. the guide fishes too!). • Heaviest total weight wins. • Tie—largest trout will determine winner. • Bait is allowed. • No culling what-so-ever. Once you have 4 limits of trout in your livewell, you're done "keeping" trout. You may continue fishing but you can't catch and replace trout from the livewell. • All MDC rules apply. Prizes and trophies will be awarded. Lunch and fellowship follows the tournament. All proceeds will go to the construction of a new YMCA facility in the Branson/Hollister area. In 2005, over $5,000 was raised at this event. We are currently looking for "guides" and team members to sign up for this event. If you'd like to become a guide, you must have a boat that will hold 4 people comfortably as well as knowledge of Lake Taneycomo, catching trout and the equipment for 4 people to do so. If you'd like to fish on a team or enter a team of 3 fisherpersons, send me the money! Teams will be limited to the number of volunteer guides. In 2005, there were 16 teams. Members troutgal Posted February 7, 2006 Members Posted February 7, 2006 My dad and I fished this event last year and we had a great time! It's an excellent opportunity to get your kids involved in tourney fishing...very family friendly. A great cause, too.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted April 25, 2006 Author Root Admin Posted April 25, 2006 Only have a few spots left for teams... and could use a couple of more helpers.
