brownieman Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 glad no one was injured...doesn't surprise me though, apparantly they missed safe boat operating class...more tax dollars sunk, sure hope it doesn't put the dept in a financial bind. gonefishin Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 I can't help myself, I know I shouldn't ask but I have to ask .... How do you turn over a pontoon boat????? Must have been a mega load of trees! I would rather be fishin'. "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote." Benjamin Franklin, 1759
zander Posted January 20, 2008 Author Posted January 20, 2008 My guess is that it was the weight combined with the way it tended to get off the boat. A big nasty tangle of trees might not come apart so easily and when half of that big nasty heap is hanging off and down in the water I can see it flipping the barge. Haste makes waste. Downsizing here might have been the way to go, of course hindsight is always 20/20.
Members carolina-rig-01 Posted January 20, 2008 Members Posted January 20, 2008 so where did the brush pile end up? and did they recover the boat or is that more fishable habitat too? If you can read this thank a teacher. And since it is english thank a soldier!
Trav Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Im with carolina rig, haha A brushpile and a shipwreck has to attract some fish...Where did this happen? Wink "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson
denjac Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Glad nobody was hurt. Bet those guys feel like idiots now, I would. And I do appreciate their effort. Dennis Boothe Joplin Mo. am4mu Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Glad everyone is ok. But I would really like to know how you turn a pontoon boat over! Was not there but it seems to me that someone would really have to use poor judgement to achieve this feat. Doug Doug Kiefer Independence, Mo h: am4mu@comcast.net w: dougk@schulzetool.com
brownieman Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 IMO, If the truth were known these educated idiots probably just wanted a new boat, lol. I'd say if it were their boat more care would have been taken...it's nice to know that if you screw up the taxpayers will replace your boat...a luxury most of us do not enjoy. bm My friends say I'm a douche bag ??
