Trav - there are lots of good fisherman reading and posting on this board. Some local guides and some just folks who happen to be very good fisherman. I can guarantee some of them can top your fish stories but you won't see them "Bragging" on this board because that's not what it's all about. I'm sure you have some good information for folks fishing the lower lake but the way you put it out there seems more like you're trying to satisfy your own ego than help out. Keep throwing out the reports, I'm sure someone is getting good info from them, just quit trying to convince us that you're the best fisherman on the lake, nobody really cares!

You jest Shawn, but that very thing happened to me last Spring.

But it was a NIKE AIR, out from under a lilley pad, in 3 feet of water, with a green salamander......Wink

To all you demurring sorts........

When it comes to my ego, or any self-inflating perceptions I may have, you can say what ever you want to justify the way you handle your own covetousness.

My notion is, until you can say you spent 2000 hours a year on Taneycomo, upper or lower, Your opinions of my abilities are absolutley insubstantial.

In case you missed it DD.

Wow this turned in to a "my **** is bigger than yours" topic. That's sad to see.

I don't know Trav, but what I do know is that Mr. Leonard is a lot of fun to fish with and is EXTREMELY generous when it comes to teaching somebody else his tricks to catching fish. Heck the man sent me and my friend several thousand midges to FOR NOTHING!! I've had the most fun catching trout on a black pine squirrel that Leonard gave me for FREE the last time I was down on Taneycomo fishing.

Trav, I'm sure that you catch all of your fish from a boat correct? I'm going to bet that not everybody has a boat to fish from, but anybody can fish from the trophy area from the bank. I'd say catching a big fish from the trophy area will draw more interest than catching them down lake, at least for the non-boaters here.

I have nothing against you Trav, but seeing as how you like to down play Leonard because he gives good advice and DOES catch big fish, you must be trying to make up for some other downfall's in your life. Honestly, what's the point? It just makes you look like a big headed, egotistical jerk.

Post some pics of your big browns, we would all like to see them and besides....seeing is believing.

I think we all need to just calm down and go fishing. :goodjob:

I guess if its a competition thing.....

Then the best fisherman is the ones with the State record fish.....

Anyone on here have the record??????????

I'll just catch my dinks and be happy!

Thousands of Midges for free did he provide a free red light with them and did he also teach how to use that red light. Someday you people will learn the TRUTH and it is going to surprise a lot of people. Like I have always said THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE

What the hell are you talking about? I've caught a bunch of fish on those FREE flies thank you very much.

I have two cents to give as well.

A. Trav has given me advice via PM so that would not be visible on the board. He has helped me at least.

B. Leonard has helped me immensely. If not for him, I would have tried flyfishing only to abandon it because I had absolutely no idea what I was doing until he offered to help me out of the blue. The funny thing is, I felt guilty for getting as much help as I did from him since he is a guide and I paid nothing. Leonard no doubt would get much more business if he didn't give so much away but then that would not be Leonard. Just from what I know, he is a class act, and my experience has undoubtedly been had by many many people as well because that is who he is.

And before I spent both pennies, I have seen him catch big browns darn near every time I was lucky enough to fish with the guy and snapped photos of them myself. Yes, they weigh out.

Why put the Legbuster down? He just made a report which I found interesting. He didn't imply that he was a master fisherman and he didn't deserve the badmouth that Trav gave him. Read the Trav's below. Who cares about your digital Trav. We just fish to have fun and I enjoy hearing how others do good or bad.

Trav's reply to a good report: "An 18 inch brown dont even qualify to hit my digitals. An 18 inch bow might though. If its fat enough.

You need to fish further down stream."

YOU HAVE AN EGO PROBLEM!

As for Leonard: He is a generous guy who will help anybody that is interested. Lots of fun to fish with and quite a character. I consider him a friend and so do lots of others who have fished with him.
