Danoinark Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 Geez....I only go and fish for the enjoyment of it. I have no 'claim to fame' fish caught and probably wouldn't post it on here anyway the way some of you act. However I would not say "loved it" after fishing anywhere around some of the attitudes expressed here. Gary (Carthage) Exactly what I was afraid of. Newer people or just those registering coming in for a fishing report or friendly conversation and they see this child like diatribe. Yes its comical, but sad too. I should have put a stop to it some time back but I was hoping for some self policing. Don't you think we have beat this horse enough? fly2fish Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 Maybe Trav needs to put down his digital scales and pull out a digital camera, seeing is believing. I have fished with Leonard many times and caught hundreds of fish with him and so has many others on this board and don't need to see pics of his fish to believe it when he says he catches a 15+ lb fish. Fishmore, hope to meet up with you again and thanks for the compliment. I know we didn't meet up until you were leaving but thanks to Leonard for introducing us. Henry
Trav Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 Tisk tisk tisk All I hear is a bunch of dogging from a lot of fishermen who never fish any deeper than half the length of thier rods. I for one agree with Dano. All this thread has produced is tenderized horse meat. "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson
crappiefisherman Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 hey trav, if its any consolation I believe you on most of your statements , I mean you are a fisherman,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,not like your in politics, um you arent are you????And I believe fishing from a 16 foot boat and using a 18 fastwin makes you fish your areas better cause your gonna be all day trying to scoutt the whole lake.I approve this message, brought to you by concerned hillbillys of taney co. mo. Members King Fish Posted January 25, 2008 Members Posted January 25, 2008 See what I mean... Travs last post just proves... He just don't get it.. I'm betting your out there with a Med/heavy bass rod 17lb test line just horseing them in right and left right Trav ? I'll bet you don't even need a net now lets see you land one in the teens with a 7x tippet and a #22 midge I like your pics Leonard enough from me... PK

Trav Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 10 pound test on spinning tackle, and yes, I occassionally use a net. No thanks on the use of the dental floss, I keep that in my bathroom. Haha. and flies dont do to well in 25 feet of water. But I get "it", I have never knocked flyfishing. Your talking apples and oranges. I just know that most the big brownies in Taneycomo will be found lurking the depths. After all, Taneycomo is 22 miles long and 20 miles of it is deeper than 15 feet. Your right Crappie, Im not exactly fishing in the fast lane. Also, I am not running for any public office. Haha. I might have more tact and be more diplomatic if I were. Maybe...wink "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson
crappiefisherman Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Trav, my champion is a step up from my old richline and 18 fastwin, and I can tell you it isnt no speed demon, but I know that on the lake going slower has helped me on numerous occasions see a tree that floated in and might be holding fish , or a school of whites in back of a cove or even an errant item some one lost as they blew down the lake at 70.I ALREADY DECIDED IM WRITING YOU IN ON MY TICKET FOR PRESIDENT, if you win can you find out where osama is .I think I saw him at home depot the other day [ [
Trav Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Taking your time has its benefits. Thats for sure. Me?President? Dont put those evil seeds in my head!! Haha Not only would I get Osama, but I would put his head on a stick in the White House lawn. Let the flies eat his eyeballs like a Texas Flathead on a fence post. Haha But in the end, I would just get assassinated by a fly fisherman who thought I had a big ego. Haha "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson
