vonreed Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 Does it bug you guys when people float past you in a boat or canoe at the Tablerock Dam. I was thinking about trapping some coon and otters down there below the dam and I just wanted your opinions. The last time I tried it we got "The Look" from flyfishermen who we had to paddle past to get by. Thanks.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted January 29, 2008 Root Admin Posted January 29, 2008 Better check with MDC... can't hunt above the KOA and I bet you can't trap either. Call Springfield 417-869-6880

Forsythian Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 heh, this post title caught my eye... as a part-time flyfisherman myself, and for purposes of community service, I thought I might provide a brief list of things that I've noticed bug fly fishermen: 1. any boat of aluminum construction 2. any clothing of denim construction 3. stringers 4. domestic beer (unless it's a microbrew) 5. wind 6. calm 7. cold 8. heat 9. too much current 10. no current 11. spinfishermen 12. other flyfishermen 13. locals 14. tourists 15. people like me who hijack threads carry on! Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted January 30, 2008 Root Admin Posted January 30, 2008 1. any boat of aluminum construction (my boat is) 2. any clothing of denim construction (love jeans) 3. stringers (only when I'm blue gill fishing) 4. domestic beer (unless it's a microbrew) (don't drink) 5. wind (love it!) 6. calm (love it!) 7. cold (like it!) 8. heat (like it!) 9. too much current (love it!) 10. no current (love it!) 11. spinfishermen (I am one) 12. other flyfishermen (I love fellowship, most of the time) 13. locals (I am one) 14. tourists (my bread and butter, and alot of other people's too) 15. people like me who hijack threads ninja.gif (I nix them, in a nice way of course) sorry to burst your bubble
Paola Cat Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 1. any boat of aluminum construction (no problem, canoes, kayaks, dingies, rafts, inner tubes, belly boats, jet skiers, water skiers, party barges ... bring'em on) 2. any clothing of denim construction (I like jeans and jackets) 3. stringers (kind of comical at the trout parks, prefer a live well or a 5 gallon bucket) 4. domestic beer (unless it's a microbrew) (doesn't matter just as long as it's cold) 5. wind (like it most of the time unless I'm in a aluminum boat) 6. calm (like it!) 7. cold (love it! I wear jeans and jean jackets) 8. heat (like it!) 9. too much current (love it!) 10. no current (like it!) 11. spinfishermen (no problem, as well as cane poles, baitcasters, grabblers, snaggers, giggers, archers) 12. other flyfishermen (depends, don't care for shufflers or crowders) 13. locals (OK with me) 14. tourists (I am one) 15. people like me who hijack threads ninja.gif (doesn't matter) PC Cheers.
