Mardi Gras In St. Louis's Soualrd Area

I'm wondering if any of OAFs are going to the big Mardi Gras parade and party in Soulard on Saturday?

For anybody not familiar with this event in St. Louis, it is considered to be the second largest Mardi Gras party in the country. It usually draws around 300,000 people.

I will be there later in the afternoon.

This weekend is going to hurt...Mardi Gras & Blues game Saturday, Super Bowl on Sunday. The beer companies will profit from me for sure.

Since Katrina it is the largest Mardi Gras party in the US! Bring your own johnnie on the spot. You can make some extra cash to pay for the beer!

My wife and I should be down there for the parade with a bunch of folks. Its a good time, but we usually head for the Venice before it gets dark and the crowd gets to crazy. Say howdy if you see us.

I'm assuming you are talking about the Venice Cafe? I have been there a few times; it is a very unique place for sure. Every time I’m there I want to say the words “far out man”.

The Venice Cafe is a favorite of ours..Good bands, tacky decor, and Uncle Bill at the door. If you like the Venice, you might enjoy the the Grateful Inn in Maplewood its just west of the Schafly Bottleworks.
