I heard a rumor about a tournament tomorrow. Anyone know the details? Nothing worse than trying to fish with all of those guys zipping around all day.

I don't understand the perception of tournament - here on Taney. I can the big lakes cause the contestants do zip around the lake in their 300 hp rigs. But this lake is full every weekend in February - every weekend - tournament or not. And boats zip around just the same... There's no difference in this weekend and next weekend as far as boat traffic. I'll even count them for you.

And yes, there is a private tourney. About 50 boats. 8 am - 3 pm. They're a bunch of guys from St Louis that have been fishing together for 24 years now.

Sorry to sound defensive... but it's something I hear all the time and it's a misconception. If they were as bad as some say they are, I wouldn't host them.

It's OK, Phil. I got the impression this was a monster tourney with LOTS of boats. Fifty isn't a lot. Mary at Cooper Creek told me I should just stay home because it was going to be too crowded. I was planning to bring my two kids and fish from the dock and she gave me the impression we'd all get seasick from the high speed traffic. I guess she just didn't want my business.

I was going to call you and see if your dock would be busy, but your room availability shows you're almost booked full. I've got to get there eventually - I need more swimmin' minnows!

I hope this doesn't turn into another "I hate tournaments" thread. I just wanted to know if there was a tourney on the lake tomorrow. The answer is yes, but not a big one. Subject closed (I hope).

My dock will be empty Saturday so come on. I've seen them catch quite a few fish today off the dock. Supposed to be a beautiful day.
