NoLuck Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 Hey guys, I was thinking about heading down for a day and was just curious as to which route is best coming from Springfield to the Dam. Also, How is the generation going to be this weekend? I may come down tonite or just come Saturday night after fishing Bennett. I don't want to get caught up in all the traffic I hear people talking about. Thanks, Rich
duckydoty Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 Not much traffic this time of year. From Springfield I like to take Hwy 65 south to the exit right behind Yakov's flashing sign on his theater. Its the 1st Branson Landing and hospital exit. Take it west. Dont know the name of that road but it turns into Gretna. It comes out right at the Titanic on Hwy 76. Just cross over 76 and follow straight to the dam. duckydoty A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
NoLuck Posted February 2, 2008 Author Posted February 2, 2008 Thanks Ducky, I knew I could count on someone here to guide me on my rambling way. Take care, Rich

Terry Beeson Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 I take 160 to Branson West then 265? and going straight instead of turning to go over the dam. This time of year, taking the 76 exit to Fall Creek Rd is not a bad route. But Duane's route is a pretty good one, too... (Isn't that Shepard of the Hills?) soggyfeet Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 I have always taken 65 south to hollister and jumped on 265 around the backside. Have I been going way out of my way or is it about the same distance? Brian
Greg Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 Regarding generation - the Power Administration's hotline says no generation all weekend. But please keep in mind that is not a guarantee. The hotline just gives an estimate. Sometimes they change things. Members CoachK Posted February 3, 2008 Members Posted February 3, 2008 The best route to the dam for me has always been going straight up the lake, bouncing one of Lilley's rental boats off the gravel bars and any stumps that might get in my way...
crappiefisherman Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Coach that beats coming in from the Table Rock side all to pieces................... [ [
