Ealy Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 What's the water like on Upper Bull Shoals since the storms Tuesday? Muddy?Warmer? Last Saturday K dock area was around 41 surface temp in morn 43 surface temp in afternoon with maybe 3 feet of visibility.
Ealy Posted February 11, 2008 Author Posted February 11, 2008 Went Saturday. water was a lot muddier than it has been. maybe 1 foot visibility. Water a little warmer though. 44-45 surface temp most places on main lake.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted February 11, 2008 Root Admin Posted February 11, 2008 Ealy- did you go to K Dock or lower lake? How did you do? I heard fishing was slow on TRock but colored water on BShoals could have made is much better conditions. That's pretty warm water temp.

We put in at K Dock. We have been fishing flats the last couple of weeks. The wind Saturday was BRUTAL. Had to get off the flats after the wind picked up. Those little bitty baits are hard to feel when the wind is blowing 20 plus (with emphasis on the plus!). A 13inch ky, a bluegill much bigger than my hand, and a couple of missed bites were all we had for the day. The bluegill and ky were both pale as a ghost. We idled up around Snapp quite a bit looking for shad schools. Didn't come up with anything. We abandoned the flats and fished wiggle warts and jerkbaits on every kind of bank the rest of the day with no takers. The water in the backs of the coves/creeks was cooler than on main lake at about 43F. I heard of just a few whites being caught that day, but that's about it. By the way, I'm not a Bull Shoals regular, especially around K dock. Just like the idea of catching a mixed bag of Walleye/Bass/Whites/Crappie etc...
Jeremy Rasnick Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 Just a heads up on the water conditions, they are about as predictable as the weather. I have been Walley Fishing about 5 times in the last 3 Weeks, and have caught 3 Walleye between my dad and myself with only one keeper. We have fished the Bank and and out of the boat. The water has been running off and on durring the week and is very hard to predict. You may go over to Forsyth on the coldest night ever with the ice frozen to your guides and they are not generating. Last week there were several guys fishing form the bank while i was in the boat, it looked like they were doing alot of tying on, im not sure about catching, its seems to be pretty slow right now. I spoke with the game warden and I don't think they are going to shock for walleye this year until the very end of Feb or beinging of March. No fish are going to be tagged only the brood stock are going to be taken temporarily and used for the stocking program and released. Lets all cross our fingers that this year, the pot hole will get back to the way it use to be. I have heard that the pot hole was named the "pot Hole" because you never know what you are going to catch. It has been my experienc this year that the name "Pot Hole" refers to all of the holes you hit while driving up to the dam on the River Run Side, holy cow..........one axel seal later I have decided to slow down a little bit on my relentless pursuit of 1 walter per thousand casts. Good luck to all.
