Gavin Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 Not sure...I paddle a Wenonah Vagabond, which is just a bit smaller than the Rendevous..Its a good flat water boat, tracks straight, its fast, and it holds enough gear for a couple days on the water. Wouldnt want second passenger in it though. Some folks think its a bit wobbly, but it hasnt been a problem for me. The Rendevous is a bit longer and wider with deeper sides..., with quite a bit of rocker..Tracking might be an issue.. Paddle it before you buy if that is an option or ask around at paddling.net Cheers.
Trav Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 Wenonah Ryder or Wenonah Judd. Hmmm.... some choice haha "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson
Gavin Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 Rocker refers to the curve on the bottom of the boat..More rocker or rise on each end makes the boat easier to turn..Less rocker makes turning more difficult but the boat will track in a straight line better. That Rendevous isnt banana shaped like a true WW canoe and might be a good solo boat. Though it doesnt look like it would be very comfortable with two people in it..if you can only afford one boat go with a 16'-17' tandem canoe in royalex or Old town croslink... FWIW, I use my 17' tandem canoe a lot more than my solo canoe. It holds more gear, more beer, the occasional passenger. Rendevous Specs.. http://www.wenonah.com/products/template/p...2a7ea592da323e2
