Members Reegs Posted February 15, 2008 Members Posted February 15, 2008 Hello to all. I decided to join after a couple days of looking over the site. I appreciate all the valuable info. I'm from St. Louis and have been fishing the Ozark streams since I can remember. Mostly I like foating the Gasconade and Big Piney for smallmouths in my Tarpon 120 on overnight floats. Look forward to chatting.

Members Fish Ogre Posted February 16, 2008 Members Posted February 16, 2008 Greetings, Welcome aboard. I am also a kayak fisherman from the St Louis Area. I have been wanting to float the big piney for several years now but never seem to be able to arrange a trip. I have a hard time passing over good rivers that are closer to home. Members Whiskey Joe Posted February 17, 2008 Members Posted February 17, 2008 Tarpon 120 is a kayak. How do you camp out of it? jcarterpe@gmail.com, BURBIS license plate Canoe, jug of water, fishin buddy, & couple of fishin poles and I'm good!
Members Reegs Posted February 18, 2008 Author Members Posted February 18, 2008 Tarpon 120 is a kayak. How do you camp out of it? The 120 is a great kayak, but I probably would have bought a 14 or 16 foot in hindsight. I pack it as if I'm going back packing. There is a bunch of storage in the bow hatch and on the stern deck and still leaves me enough room for my 12 pack/food cooler and tackle box. I've had it for a couple years now and never came close to tipping it. It handles really well and makes for easy fishing. Have I sold you on it?
