Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted February 17, 2008 Root Admin Posted February 17, 2008 http://www.mdc.mo.gov/fish/sport/bass/smbwhite/ ANGLER INVOLVEMENT Some anglers have volunteered (the majority from The Missouri Smallmouth Alliance) to help obtain smallmouth bass data for biologists on some streams. After completing a training session, volunteers will collect some smallmouth bass scales and lengths on biologist-recommended streams. Volunteer anglers on the Niangua River and Osage Fork of the Gasconade River have recently been completing MDC surveys that outline their angling interests and opinions. All these data will be analyzed by MDC biologists to help evaluate candidate streams. More still needs to be known about smallmouth bass anglers, specifically stream smallmouth bass anglers. The SMBWG recommends that stream anglers be surveyed to obtain information on their desires and expectations through a Point-of-sale/mail/telephone survey. In addition, communication with smallmouth bass anglers will be improved with the circulation of this document, assembly and use of a slide presentation outlining this effort, and the printing of publications and articles describing this effort. This is interesting... anyone know about this?
