I heard at noon that they expected to go to 30k this afternoon. Can anyone put that into perspective?

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

30k CFS... cubic feet per second of water being released from the dam itself.

currently 27,000cfs is what is being released, but by 4pm today - it might get to 30k.

Just once I wish a trout would wink at me!

2008 flood they ran about 46,000- the highest ever. Last month it got up to 68,000. Most of us can get to our docks at 25,000 but any higher we can't. Ramps are covered. About 60,000 puts it in our lower units but we're ready with 800 sand bags this time.

There won't be all the trees and trash this time though but it will erode more bank and move more gravel around.

This is from Scott Branyan's newsletter.....

Rain, Rain, Go Away!

The Corps opened five spillway gates at Table Rock dam just before

noon. Gates on Beaver are already open. According to a report from the

Corps provided to KY3 News in Springfield, Bull Shoals dam will likely

be opening spillway gates.

According to the updated plan, expect the following releases:

Beaver - up to 40,000 cfs

Table Rock - up to 50,000 cfs

Bull Shoals - up to 35,000 to 45,000 cfs

Heavy thunderstorms expected through today and tomorrow could produce

more rain than expected necessitating even heavier releases.

Numerous flash flood warnings and flood warnings have been issued over

the weekend and into this afternoon for the Ozarks. Please be aware if

you are travelling in the area.

What do you suppose the limit is for the Landing? I didn't see the lower area of Rockaway earlier, but in '08 it came up onto the road slightly.

One thing we've learned is that the Springfield news media can't be trusted... That's all I'll say about that.

34,000 cfs tonight. Beaver I noticed the tail water rose 5 ft and the lake level is dropping so that's good. We will see if they can on top of table rock tonight releasing 34k.

We can take it to about 53,000 cfs. Higher than that and it's in our lower units. But we are ready to sand bag so we are better prepared.

Not good for renting boats though :(
