Guest Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 I built a paint booth outta 1" boards & exhaust fan. the quick connect garage door adapter is essential. It's a portable unit sitting on folding art table. Very easy to break down & load up. I mounted the fan motor to an old TV dinner tray from college.

timinmo Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 Trophy, love the paint booth and the work you do.
Flysmallie Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 Nice job. I really like that. What are you covering it with? Where's the exhaust filter. You might have to put up some type if deflector so it doesn't pull all the air from right beside it. Sorry, I have a love for paint booths.
Guest Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 Fly, this was cobbled together over the holiday. I've got a 12" filter that will cover up the fan. I'm using 1/8" cedar wallboard as the outside shell. I'm going to tape the seems with gorilla tape.
Guest Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 Lol at the exhaust fan outlet that I rough cut the TV dinner tray. I used a folding hand saw to maul an opening.

Guest Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 The motor, flex, fittings, lumber, screws & hole saw was around $100. The hole saw was $40 & I got hole to find an identical 4 1/8" hole saw. Doh.. Either way, it was more fun building it versus buying a paint booth.
Guest Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 Part of me wanted to drag an old 100 quart cooler in the garage & cut out a square in the bottom then mount the fan motor. But it's against the law to destroy a cooler with a good lid & hinges. We could always covert that into a gold fish pond or minnow vat.
