  1. Sounds like a job for the "Myth Busters". I guess it depends on what I will be tying then. Thanks for the input.
  2. Ok, let me restate. Not new laws for Beaver Tailwater. But the laws regarding barbless. Sorry for the confussion. Settle down Terry, It's ok.
  3. Back in the days I would use Lil Cleos in gold.
  4. The "pliers quick fix" I have done. I am concerned about the new laws going into affect in Arkansas. I am not fully convinced that crimping the barbs will keep me from getting a citation.
  5. If you were going to start tying, would invest in only the non-barbed or the barbed hooks. I am a catch an release only, when I fish for trout. Come to think of it, I am C&R only.
  6. You are right Leonard, they are a great bunch of people. I have been a member of the group for a year, and I can not beleive all the things they have done. I just wish I was able to donate more time to their cause.
  7. Congratulations on the birth of you and your wifes first born. You have been blessed with a special addition to the family. May they arrive home healthy and safe. Just remember to spoil him before the grandparents get a hold of him. That way you can take credit for that, and not them.
  8. Sorry I can't help, I didn't get there until the next morning. I parked at outlet 2.
  9. Where were you parked at? About what time did you leave? Does he/she know were it was left at?
  10. Looks like a scaled down version of boats on Lake of the Ozarks.

  12. Thanks jdmidwest. I am going to need all the help I can get.
  13. I had plans on fishing with Leonard, but when I went outside at 10:00 PM, Sunday night, the wind was howling, so I turned around and went back inside. I am not as tough as I used to be. Luckly when I woke up, the wind had layed a lot and it was over cast. The best time to fish. Did I ever have a good day. I started fishing at 4:15 AM between #2 and Rebar, with a white Zonker #8 and started getting hits right off. It was fish and bites from that point on. Caught all fish on Zonkers, in black, white, and olive. Fishing on the swing, then a very very slow strip. Had bites on most cast. Fish were all on the small side (dinks) 10-13 inches.
  14. Good article, but it still comes down to personal preference. To bad all flyshops don't carry all brands. Sure would make it easier on the customer when it comes time to buy. Come to think of it, I just wish I had a flyshop close by.
  15. Look at the bright side...fortunatly, only about 15% of the people are "it's all about me", the other 85% are basically good people. I know that doesn't solve the problem, but just think if those numbers were reversed. Common sense is something you are born with, some people have it, some don't.
  16. Glad to help MrDucky. That is the way I was taught. Just remember to pass it on.
  17. Leonard I am almost afraid to ask...are you an expert?
  18. I am going to go out on a limb here and say, what a great gathering. Weather was great, a little chilly at first, food was great, meeting everyone was great. I am ready for another one too. Thanks to everyone that brought food. It was really, really good. Did everyone catch fish? LMW said he was using 10 second fuses, what ever that means. hahaha

I learned to whip finish using my hands as well. It was many moons ago. First time I used a whip finisher, I tied my fingers to the fly.
  20. Coming down to enjoy my first New Years Eve by myself. My beautiful wife is kicking me out of the house. Should be there by 2:00 PM. Keep the town warm for me. Thanks LMW, and to you as well. Rusty
  21. Something I noticed was, the D.O. is higher 17 miles down lake than it is by the dam. Can anyone explain this?
  22. Is there a need for a portable cook stove? If so, I can bring one.
  23. Too funny. Have a great one Phil. Rusty
