  1. The day has come where big business is holding communities hostages. They go to the highest bidder. Whoever will give them the most. I for one am a small business owner, and I can say for certain I did not gain anything from Tracker Boats moving to Miami, Ok. Granted, I am not a realtor or own Walmart, however, my tax dollars were used to entice them to locate here. I will stop here and get off my box.
  2. Bill, This problem always happens to me when I empty or delete cookies. However, I still have a hard time entering the Bass Pro web site at anytime. Back to the question at hand...I have found that after dumping my cookies I can go to a couple of other sites that have alot tables that are embeded on their site. And at that time it will start running OAF just fine. My personal opinion, I think its the forum program. But, a computer guru I am not.
  3. It rained yesterday for about 14 hrs. Total amount for this area 0.46 inces. You would think we could have gotten at least a inch. Oh well, I'll be optimistic about this, something is better than nothing.
  4. We need all we can get. Driving to Tulsa last week, I noticed ponds that were ankle deep. I have lived here all of my life and have never seen the ponds this low. Sure did ruin alot of good bass fishing ponds. Russ
  5. Is it raining in the Branson area? If so how much? Will it affect fishing at Taney the first part of the week? Russ
  6. I will be there tuesday afternoon. Brian...be sure to wear that hat. Its kinda hard to describe yourself when you basically look like everyone else in the water. Hat, waders, fly rod, sunglasses, vest. See what I mean. Maybe we need to color dye our hats. LOL Russ
  7. Phil, My 15 mth son loves it. He gets a little upset though, when they stop swimming.
  8. I can't make it Saturday, but I will be there the Tuesday before. I will pick up some trash then. Can somebody bring the dogs and buns then? Don't worry about that, BBQ sounds better. Russ
  9. I have one located.
  10. I am looking for a used, but tenderly worn, G Loomis 7 wt. 9' Cross Current or GLX. Send a PM. Thanks Russ
  11. Brian...any local establisment would be fine, most generally after dark. Be sure to take some dollar bills though. Sorry man, but that was a loaded question. It's all in fun, ok.
  12. Leonard...Aren't you supposed to be resting? Hope you are doing well and not overdoing it. Most times the meds make you tougher than you really are. Just be careful. Sounds like momma is doing her job. Russ
  13. Moose, Tippet found a web site that had some good sales on sunglasss, but that was before christmas. campmor.com. If you go back to his post on this topic, there is a link directly to it. I just wish I would have bought more of them.
  14. Many times I have heard that carp are the most misunderstood fish when it comes to cooking and eating. I for one, am a person that is willing to try about anything when it comes to food. However, in my lifetime, carp have been labeled the trash fish of the waters. I am trying to overcome this, but I am really not sure if I can. Can anyone give suggestions on prepping and cooking. Russ
  15. Snagged...I hope your not going to have to give up wading.

    Guide needed

In need of a guide to show 4 Okies how to catch some stripers on Beaver. Prefer artificial baits, other baits if needed. PM me if anybody interested, and with payment schedule. Russ
  17. Bill, Sounds good. Something I just remembered, different subject. I can remember going to Spring River and fishing a 6" piece of frayed nylon rope with a plastic worm sinker, and catching gar. Can you imagine doing that with a fly rod. Did it during the hottest part of the summer come to think of it. Back to the topic at hand. I have waded on the Spring, up by the Kansas line and caught a walleye. Strange fish for this area. We will keep in touch.
  18. Can someone point me in the direction to an extra spool? Any help would be appreciated.
  19. Bill...I have some ideas where they are catching them. Guys around here keep things so tight lipped, its easier to go catch the hybrids than ask where things are. They will be catching them on both rivers, but usually start on the Spring, first. As low as the water will probably be, a jet motor to get over the riffles will be the best bet. I don't fish for them for the only reason of not having a boat. I can get you a some good crappie in the early spring time if your interested, on the Neosho. Soon after, maybe a week, the whites and hybrids start. Russ
  20. Nice, live footage. Even saw a salmon egg eating a hook.
  21. Grumpy, it's good to have you on board. Russ
  22. Bill, Wished I could give you first hand knowledge. I haven't fished for hybrids, but I have seen 10-15 lb hybrids that were caught on Spring River in Oklahoma. They look like they had swallowed a basketball. I have also heard they can tear up a good bait casting reels drag systems. I also hear, you catch these monsters on the Neosho River in Oklahoma as well.
  23. "Build it, and they will come"
  24. ALOT of bass tournaments. Seems like one going on every weekend, on one part of the lake or the other. There was a huge bass kill after one of the tournaments last summer. Can't remember the number, but it was over 500 fish. Didn't go over to well for the locals. Everyone was blaming everyone else. Typical stuff, nobody wanting to admit guilt.
  25. If anybody is interested, I can help with some old fishing haunts on Grand Lake. Even better, if you have a boat can be a free guide. If I can bring a pole too. Be glad to help out.
