I am doing work at the in-laws as well, but they're not taking me fishing. Just a ball and chain attached to my ankle.

Reminds me of another forum I used to be a member of.

There were several deaths in Picher as well as the Seneca MO area. We live about 7 miles from where this happened and my wife and I were outside watching the sky just prior to the sounding of the warning sirens. You could tell something was going to happen, by the way the clouds looked. Strangest thing I had ever seen. Prayers go out to those that were involved with this deadly storm.

Man oh man, did I mess up. During my home remodel, I found red oak flooring under the carpet in the living room. This is good. So I left the old carpet down as a drop cloth to catch all the uglies that go along with a remodel. After finishing the final painting, I pull up all the old carpet and the very last part that is pulled up, there in the floor lies a rough cutout opening for an old floor furnace. Dirty word, dirty word! Had I known this, I would have saved some of the other oak flooring I had torn out in the bedrooms. Now I have to locate 3/4" X 1 1/2" red oak tongue and groove flooring. If I have to, I will mill it myself, but I would rather buy it. While I am in the mood, I will replace all the old pet stains that are there too. I have a month before I refinish the floors, so I have a little time to locate some. Help...Please!

Has anyone posted any pictures of the erosion that has occurred around the outlets from the floods? I may have missed them, and if so, can I be directed to the topic? Thanks

Are Your Travel Plans Being Quelled?
Rusty replied to Danoinark's topic in Lodging, Camping, Kayaking and Caoneing
I have yet to fish this year. For me to make a day trip to Taney, it would run me roughly $275 at todays costs. Before the gas issues it would have been closer to $200. This includes gas, food and the normal goodies I get when I make my rounds to the fly shops and resort. But, I must admit too, I have been remodeling our house and that has taken a lot of my time this year, and still is. This is the first full day that I have not worked on it in two months. Did I say that I needed a break. Hawaii in June though. Chasing bones on the flats and and maybe a trevally too. I be sure to post pics. -
This is what I ended up buying:along with this: I installed two of the two gang to run all the HD/Audio and the single gang just for the satellite cable. I can then run any cable later if needed.

Mexico withdraws from Olympics President Felipe Calderon of Mexico has announced that Mexico will not participate in the Beijing Summer Olympics. He stated: "Casi cada uno que puede funcionar, saltar, o la nadada ha salido ya del pams." Translation: "Pretty much everyone who can run, jump, or swim has already left the country."

Looks like Michael Kyle has set a new record, 3lbs 12 ozs. That record has held for 27 years. Way to go Michael!

I am doing a complete tear out and remodel on a bedroom and two halls and a living room. Building a 2.5'x7' closet that will have access through a hall that buts up to the living room. Adding new insulation on the exterior walls and all new electric, doors and trim. While doing the living room, I decided to build ready the backside of the closet that joins the living room to hold a LCD TV up to 50". I want to add all the necessary cables through the wall that I will need to run the satellite receiver to the TV plus a DVD player. So far I have come up with the RG6 cable that connects the TV to the satellite receiver and a HDMI cable. The TV will not be able to receive HD through the satellite because of obstructions. Will I only need one HDMI cable for the Blu Ray DVD or will I need the RCA cables too if I decide not to get a Blu Ray DVD player? I don't want to pull wires after I get this wall completed.

If you were to report someone to the hatchery, would something actually happen?

If memory serves me correctly, you need a permit to launch on Eucha too.

Whenever I come the OAF site, there are times, not all, when the newest topics are listed as yesterdays newest, and the same for todays topics. When I refresh the page it comes current to the newest. Why would I have to hit refresh to see the most current (time wise) topics when I come to this site? This is the only forum that I am experiencing this with.

Mom...Dear ole mom. She has always been a clean freak when it came to the house. At a young age, I began to have an interest in cooking. One morning, when I was 12, I decided to fix some hotcakes. Mom always had the syrup in the fridge in one of those nice glass syrup containers. After fixing the hotcakes, I get the syrup out of the fridge and put it on the stove top over a very low fire. I get the urge to go the restroom, when I am halfway back to the kitchen, I here a pop. It sounded like a small caliber handgun going off. When I get into the kitchen, I see right off that I was in some big, big trouble. I have never, in my whole life, seen a mess, like syrup can make, when it explodes on the kitchen stove top. There was syrup everywhere. On the ceiling, on the cabinets, everywhere. I had four hours to clean this up and I took full advantage of the whole four hours. I learned from this, that I was never going to kill someone, because there is never a way to clean everything up. If my mom could find it, someone more trained in the field of collecting evidence surely could. Did I mention my mom would have made a good evidence collector. It took 10 minutes before she noticed that something wasn't right. I played dumb, but I was busted none the less. There was syrup on the back side of the refrigerator handle. Now, how in the world could that have gotten there, since it is directly across from the stove a good 8 ft. Then there was the problem with the burners not working on the stove. She had been thinking about getting a new stove anyway. If she could have beat me with the broom, she couldn't find because I hid it, she would have. Instead, I was given a mom look that wasn't the I will always love because you are my son look. I tried helping her, but she told me to go to Aunt Dixie's house for a while. Aunt Dixie's house? The one that lives in Oregon? Mom still lives in the same house we did when I was growing up in Oklahoma. You know, every time this is brought up, she still doesn't laugh as hard as I do. Even though she did get a new stove out of it.

Phil mentioned something in another topic about doing stupid things, and I thought I would start a topic on it. This is something that was told to me by my dad...I was four years old at the time, and good old pops had been in the hospital for a hernia operation. Being four years old and doing things that four year old boys do, dad walked through the door just from the hospital. So, I do what I always did when he walked into the house, I run to him and punch him in the belly. Mom said, that if dad hadn't fell to the floor in pain, I would have no longer been on Gods green earth. He had to turn around and return to the hospital, something about new stitches. He returned the favor 6 years later. I was holding one of the two ladders that dad had used to build a scaffold to paint the uppermost part of the gable. It was early in the morning and cool with a lot of dew on the ground. After he made it to the 12' 2x12 that was spanning the two ladders, I noticed things were moving pretty good. So I move away from ladder and tell pops, he's on his own. He said a few choice words and informed to hold the ladder. I no more than had my hands on the ladder and look up, and see things that were not where they were not supposed to be at. Mainly the 2x12. The corner of it hit right on the hair line on my forehead. I never passed out, but I did inform dad that I told you so. Dad said he had never seen so much blood in his life. 10 stitches later and a freaky hair cut, all was well. Dad never put the scaffolding back up, he used the extension ladder to finish up.

He was praying not to have the strenght to beat you down.

Very poor decision on his part, and one that will more than likely ruin his career. I have done stupid stuff before and a second after I did, I wished I had not done it. At least I didn't have a filming crew around while I was doing it.
