    Suckers

Have they come up yet. I don't go grabbing but I have a son that's wanting too. They were down Sunday and didn't see any. Is it too early or too late?? Thanks
  3. Guess I missed out on the free eats. We'll be out cutting wood seems like about the 40th cord for this winter. I didn't mention Charley's cause the wife and I eat there one time and there were so many fly's in there I thought we were back in the milk barn. Course that shouldn't be a problem right now. As with most places down there parking can be a problem with pickups and boat trailers. That other place is hardly ever open anymore so you should be safe!
  4. there's a BBQ place on the right a little ways before you get to the 3 way. Parking lot is always full in the mornings when we go by. Not sure what kind of breakfast it is. Then there's always Mickey D's. Fox was a Mex place but don't know now. You buying???
  5. thanks. Works for me, bet we caught at least a doz or so like that over a long stretch of water.
  6. That is worth the trip. I've never had a keeper at Pomme
  7. My fault I forget about all the various names. Growing up we lumped all those feisty little critters in a pot and called them perch. The first was in fact the yellow perch that migrated here for the milder weather and the last were Bluegill. We found them in about 10' of water on a muddy point just up from Beaver Creek Ramp. They'd hit a jig on the bottom. We had some about the size of your hand and they're pretty good to eat. The yellow perch was in 22' of water also on the bottom and is the only one I've ever caught. We were just kinda surprised to find bloody eggs this early. The one thing we've noticed is that we are not catching any fish where we use to. Those waters seem to have some kind blight to them. So last couple of trips have been kinda spent relearning what we should have known in the first place. Mainly it's a lot easier to go fishing than to catch fish. So while I'm asking questions why were so many of the bass covered with very red places along their undersides from belly to tail. Ralph had one that I thought was bleeding when he first got it out of the water but it was just red streaks.
  8. We went down Sat. for awhile. Water temp was 53* when we got there and when we left. Was really surprised thought there would be several there. Caught a lot of short bass, couple of crappie, several big perch and finally caught one of those yeller perch everyone was talking about. Super nice day to be out, no wind to speak of not much if any water moving. No walleye this trip. When do they spawn PD? Ralph said it was chock full of bloody eggs. They have put up a stop sign in the middle of hwy 160 where F turns back towards Branson. It's adorned with those concrete islands they like so well.
  9. We went up yesterday to Ruark. Finally got tired of the little bass and came home early. .Water color is good and lots of it. Water temp was running 79* mostly. Saw lots of shad from 2" up to about 8", all those bass should have something to eat this winter. We did see some small whites working the shad later in the morning.
  10. we saw it and thought that was what it was too. Use to be a lot of it in one of the coves over by the campground, Sure hope it doesn't spread, but it will.
  11. I figured as much seeing as how I don't like fishing that deep.
  12. So is the rain and cooler weather going to shake things up and move them up?
  13. Well our trip got canceled after all that. Maybe after my fishing partner gets tired of chasing goats we can get back down there. Dutch guess we ain't been fish'n deep enough, and most of the days we've been up there the wind is too much for me to hold that Lund off those points Hope you have a good trip. You hunting this year?
  14. Jeff i appreciate that. That was kinda what we were guessing about 4' for aways below the bridge. I heard on the news that they were warning boaters on Bull Shoals and Norfork to be wary that they would be generating a lot of power and dropping the water level even more. Still hoping to get down tomorrow if I can get my fishing partner out of the house.
  15. Well info is pretty tight out of there for sure. BUT I do thank you !!!! I figured it would probably be ok going down but it's a long drive. I think we might just give it a try about Wednesday. Thanks again.
  16. I was told that a new ramp was under construction at Beaver Creek and was wondering if there's still enough water to get down that way from the River Run ramp up by Shadow Rock. Would appreciate it if some one has any information. Thanks
  17. that was it for us just the 2 Gar. Fished from ramp down to just below K-dock. Usually the small black bass drive us crazy but we couldn't even find those.
  18. the Gar were last week. Last one I hooked pulled us around for several minutes before we could get it close enough to the boat to cut the line. Sure a load on a ultra-lite though
  19. Bluegill I've never been lucky enough to get one of those yankee perch from up north
  20. along the channel. it was rock with lots of limbs and junk on the bottom. We were setting about 30' out and casting towards the bank. But most of the time they picked it up off the bottom. They were running water.
  21. Only been a couple of trips over the years that we've actually got our limits but they seem to run bigger so doesn't take as many for supper.
  22. it was so foggy when we came down the hill we couldn't even see River Run so drove on down to Beaver. they run water most of the day. Brought home 17 crappie and 5 bigger than your hand perch that were just about white.Threw 2 or 3 back before we started putting them in the live well. Several of the crappie run up to and over 11" so ended up with a good mess of fish. All on the bottom in 20' to 25' of water on pink and chart tubes.
  23. I thought we could catch crappie on Stockton most of the time but the last few trips we got sent home with our tails tucked. Usually when the water gets this low it was no problem but sure different this year for us anyway.
  24. Well trip got canceled for a few days maybe this weekend. Dutch you been doing any fish'n around Beaver Creek lately?
  25. thanks I appreciate it. My partner can't swim so the dock might be a problem.
