I was thinking they probably were. We usually go to Beaver Creek and didn't know if it was trashed up with all the high water and if the dock was still there. Hopefully we can get down this week. Thanks!!

Can someone tell me how the ramps are at Beaver Creek and River Run. From the pics that Lilley put up of Swan Creek looked like River Run was ok to use but was wondering how Beaver was? Thanks!!
-
Glad you caught some we got skunked. Water was nasty looking up around Ruark. Moved alot and most places we went someone was already there. Shoulder was gving me fits and we left about 3:30 We fished brush piles, drop offs, trees and about anything else we could think of. Thinking about heading south for a trip or two around Beaver Creek, maybe a change of water will help

What a way to ruin a good trip. You did better than I would have. A good trip fish'n and mostly what you'll remember is the bad.
-
Nice limit! Is the bite still on the lite side? Had to be tough out with the east wind and then snow.
-
I've been wanting to get out but the guy I fish with is chasing goats right now. Hopeing for some fair weather as soon as the season is over. That's interesting about them hugging the bluffs like that. Think I know where you're fishing. See lots of people fish'n along there but hardly ever anyone catching. We've stopped there a time or two but we never stay long. maybe we were to far out and it is a bare bottom.

and here I sit at the house I take it you're using minnows? Those crappie scraps ought to be first rate cat feed
-
Walleye have been scarce for us since it got hot back in the early summer. At that time we were catching maybe 10 a day with alot of shorts. I'm not much into trolling so we just fish for crappie but usually catch some along with them, but not this year. Anything legal would look good. You catch those cat on your crappie rod?? if so that ought to have been a hoot!!
-
straw hat that's a good day anytime but with the wind yesterday it's extra good. Has the water cleared up? Our last couple of trips have not been good but we did catch a couple of short walleye last time out.

They were open a week or so ago. The bridge over the dry branch has been replaced. The bridge over the Sac is like it was and rougher than a cob. Modot's web site said it's to be closed in Feb I think. Y hwy bridge was open to one lane at that time.

Several years ago you could drive down to the cove on the north side of the 245 bridge out of Bona. Use to be whites in there at times. Then the Corp and the MDC decided to block off the road. Use to be a small place to park off the road but haven't been there in a long time.

waterpossum you sure did better than us. We've been fighting it every since the heat moved in this summer. Dont know if we're not staying with it enough and moving to much or what. I usually don't travel much form where I put in at but motor has been getting a workout lately. Weather permitting maybe can get back up this week.

Went to Cedar again. Found crappie and whites in first cove we stopped at. Crappie around 12' and whites 8'. Crappie were close to the bottom. Had a few shorts and a couple of keepers when the wind got up and we couldn't stay in there. Fished on up towards High Point and only found short crappie and drum out of the wind. Moved up into Maze in the afternoon and found short crappie and drum out of the wind again. Finally moved over onto the wind side, picked up 4 keeper crappie but by then we had about all the wind we could handle for one day. So 6 crappie for the day and threw back a couple of fair size whites along with some smaller ones. Crappie are all eat'n well! For the most part the crappie hit the minnows better and the whites hit the jigs. Water temp 68* when we got there and still 68* when we left. For those that drive 215 it's open again atleast for a while. I understand they're to close it again about Feb to do the Sac River bridge.

Put in at Cedar, north ramp and fished Maze most of the day. Again we pulled 3 nice crappie out from under the same tree as last trip and that was it there. Went on back into Maze and only found big skeeters willing to bite so left out and fished banks between the 2 Cedar ramps. Picked up a couple more crappie along the way. Ended up with 5 running up over 12". We've only caught 9 the last two trips and all were nice & chunky and mostly over 11". No shorts but sure makes for a long day. All caught on minnows except for one on a jig. Lots of shad and water temp was 69* when we got there.

Pretty much the same kind of day we had. Put in at Cedar ( sure be glad when they get all the bridges fixed) Had 1-- 10" crappie right off and then about an hour later caught 3 that were 11" in about 5 mintes and that was it for the day other than one nice small mouth close to the ramp as we were leaving. Guy I fish with goes to Stockton at night and he's been having alot of dry runs catfish'n. Says it's been about the worst year he's had at Stockton.

Lund Front Livewell Problems
nxs replied to nxs's topic in Tips & Tricks, Boat Help and Product Review
I've been there but haven't found anything yet. I'm still looking. It may have to be a cold weather project and pull the floor up. Hoses look like they could be replaced anyway. Thinking it's a project I'm not going to want to do thanks -
I've a 2000 Lund 1800 Pro-V. I've never really used the front livewell until it started heating up this summer and found that it wouldn't pump water up front. Checked and the flo-rite valve was cracked and the pump was not working. Ordered new valve and pump (new pump leaked) but still would not pump water up front, to either the livewell or baitwell. So when I got home I pulled everything and was checking hoses. The hose in the bottom of the livewell with the screen cover which I'm taking is the one for recirculating seems to have something in it. I can fill the livewell but only get a dribble of water about half the dia. of a pencil out of it. I can push water back up about the same. I run a small cable up the hose and it comes in contact with something and I can actually push a little water back up into the livewell. Is there some kind of check valve in there? Can't see why, but could sure use some help here. Thanks Gary

We were there yesterday and they were catching some whites. We caught some small blacks, in about 12' of water close to the bottom. Water temp had dropped, 46* I think it was. Just alot of trash in the water in places, mostly where we wanted to fish. Water looked to be up foot or better. Found some water in Beaver Creek that was 51* along with a 17 1/2" walleye but that was the closest we came to a keeper of any kind.

Well I got to the point I needed something more stable and with sides on it. Like to have stumbled off the side of that bass boat a couple of times. Went with the 18' to get around the stickups at Stockton a little easier and kinda thinking now that the 19' might have been better for me. Sure fishes different than the bass boat and took some getting use to but a super boat regardless. You sure won't be disappointed

It's green and tan, dual console. Nice boat but hard to get in and out of.

We threw about everything in the boat. Seemed like we'd catch maybe 1 or 2 on a color of tube or grub or swimming minnow then have to go to something else. Don't think we had a bite on a minnow. Know I had a pile of used colors on the bait well when we got back to the ramp. They didn't like anything bright or so it seemed, more of a neutral color. Think my partner was using some awful looking thing (tube) that had 2 or 3 different shades of green. Believe he caught the crappie and white on it. Dutch with the price of diesel getting way out of hand it's hard for me to make those south trips too. I can make almost 2 trips to Stockton from here for one trip down south. With this high sided Lund I've got now I don't like fighting the wind but may have to go back to Stockton from now on. Probably won't be any trips up to Warsaw either. I caught those 2 killer walleye on a firetiger colored grub

Found out real quick that I had got right into those 60* and 70* days. That east wind was rough early in the day. Fishing was tough for us. Did catch some fish, had a couple of walleye that end to end would probably have not measured. A short and a 12" crappie. several short black bass and good white and 2 really nice small mouth when we first got there. Water temp was 47* when we got there and 49* when we left. Was good to get out after being cooped up for so long.

Thanks for the report. Appreciate it. Still hoping to get down this week. Depends mostly on the wind. Thanks again.

Now that was going to be my question. Beaver Creek lot and ramp that is. Dutch hope you're surgery goes well
