  2. Any new updates on ramps that are clear/frozen?
  3. Can't avoid them on Stockton Lake.
  4. Old crow medicine show
  5. Thanks man.
  6. Dollar bill, I need to fish with you. I've never caught a white and can't ever seem to find the "signs" I hear about on here. Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough
  7. MSTstudent, I had never heard of a guitar fish until I just looked it up, and if I saw one of those on the end of my line, I would probably soil.
  8. Could be...I know it sure looked impressive on the screen.
  9. Launched at Cedar Ridge and stayed in the area north of 245 bridge, water was 70º. Caught a couple small bass and one keeper eye on a jig/crawler on the bottom in 11 FOW. Was hoping for a few more bites, but it was the first time getting out in a few weeks so I can't complain. I was heading to a new spot and glanced at my graph and noticed TONS of long arches around big masses on the screen (which I guessed to be some sort of fish going after schools of shad?) so I tied on a white fluke and tossed it around for a while with no luck. I was in 35-40 FOW and the arches where everywhere, from about 20' all the way to the bottom. I was wondering if anyone knows what those were and how to catch them...I'd never seen anything like that before.
  10. Post this on the stockton forum.
  11. Yeah, I agree. Getting a solid hookup on a topwater is difficult enough without having to get the hook through the plastic. The only solution would be to use super soft plastic, in which case the lure would only be good for a couple fish.
  12. I think 21 is a good guess. Nice fish.
  13. Bolivar Walmart has 18-24's for $4.19.
  14. Any soft plastic is good, worms, brush hogs, creatures, craws. Jig n pig works well for me as well, I've always got one tied on. I've been using the jighead/nightcrawler for walleyes too, but I seem to be catching more drum than anything. Anything special about where you're catching these wallys? Depth, points, etc.?
  15. I have been catching numbers up shallow in the brush, but all of my bigger (than 3#) fish have come 10+ feet. Just food for thought. Personally, I'd rather catch 20 little guys than 2 or 3 hogs, but thats just me.
  16. I know when I went out this morning, the bass were just pounding my weightless white fluke (insert joke here). I was ripping it and letting it flutter down slowly just barely under the surface. Now I'm no marine biologist, but if I didn't know any better I'd say that's a sign the topwater bite is about to turn on.
  17. Launched High point, fished a couple main points around Turkey creek from 6 a.m. to about 10:30. Ended up with 3 cats (2 keepers), a 14" walleye, a 12"LM, and a drum, all on a jighead/nightcrawler fished a couple feet off the bottom in 8-12'. Temp. was 77-79, about 3' visibility. Was hoping to catch a few more walleye and not so much of the other stuff, but oh well. The cats made a tasty lunch.
  18. My Hbird works at any speed.
  19. This may not be an exact answer to the question, but I always make sure I have a trailer hook on my topwaters, esp. buzzbaits. I would say at least 30% of my fish caught on topwaters are caught on the trailer. Red 1/0 OShaughnessys work great.
  20. Has anyone purchased any of these lures and if so, what is your report? I saw them at the Pro today and was intrigued...didn't purchase though. Figured it was meant to catch fisherman instead of fish. I'm a little skeptical so if anyone's had any luck (good or bad), let me know. I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering about it. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_10203466_100007008_100000000_100007000_100-7-8
  21. I have a question maybe someone could help me with. The wife and I are taking care of our niece for a couple days and wanted to go to the beach at cedar ridge. My question is if I launched at Masters and ran to cedar ridge by water, would there be anywhere (ie. dock, sand beach) that I could tie up or pull ashore for a couple hours at cedar while we swam? I've never been to CR so I don't have any idea. Thanks guys.
  22. That makes sense, thanks SF. Question: This time of year, when the bass are in shallow water and we get massive rainfall like we got, do they tend to stay near the same location as they were, which is now 20 feet under the surface? From what trav was saying it sounds like they'll eventually move into the shallows to follow forage. I guess I'm just asking how bass respond to rapidly rising waters and how/if they adjust spawning patterns/locations.
  23. Think it'll still be that high in a week or two? I don't know much at all about the COE and how they control the dam and such, but my simple mind is tempted to wonder why they don't just open the gates and return the lake to it's normal, happy level.
  24. Launched at Bolivar landing, spent most of my time fishing the flooded shoreline brush. Fished 7:00-noon. Got a hard bite on a blue/chart. spinnerbait but threw the hook. Other than that, got skunked. Tried spinnerbait, buzzbait, popper, brush hog, jig 'n pig, zoom fluke, nothing seemed to work and couldn't find a pattern. Had about a foot of visibility, water was ridiculously high and cloudy and there was debris and trash everywhere. Forgot to record a water temp, sorry guys. Hope y'all had a more productive day than I. On the bright side, it was a gorgeous day to be out on the water.
  25. If anyone needs a fill in this thursday, holler at me.
