  1. As to why... I prefer to be responsible for myself and my families safety, not to count on someone else to protect me in the one in a million chance something bad happens.
  2. Im aware of the law, as well as the city's in my area w ordinances against it, I read it on the internet.
  3. It sounds as if you do the right thing. I do not think driving DRUNK should be tolerated whatsoever. But just because you have a couple beers at a bar does not make one unfit to drive, but it is common to see patrons of drinking establishments targeted. Im not against "Stupid Human Trick" field tests, (I have gotten to participate in that one in my before kids days, I aced it) but .08 should not be an automatic DUI.
  4. I agree with that, however I dont agree with having to get a license to carry my personal property on myself if I want to have a gun shirt tailed. Therefore I dont have my cc license. I have no desire to break the law, but would like to carry in a few places I go. I also dont want to be "that gun nut" who carries for a statement if you know what I mean.
  5. PS, I have not had a DUI, so my feelings are not a result of me feeling sorry for myself.
  6. I shouldn't, but I will..... Drinking in itself is legal, driving after you drink is also 100% legal. People with your mindset are generally not drinkers (i applaud you, seriously ), its also people who dont drink that are usually the ones saying how intoxicated someone is and for the most part have no clue as to what is or is not drunk. DUIs are a JOKE it is a moneymaking joke one that creates more problems than it solves. DUIs criminalize drinking and hurt the working folk who cant afford the 10 g's to keep their license to get to work to support their family. Doesn't affect the well to do, they can pay for the good lawyer to keep them driving. I loathe DUIs and those who dont drink yet judge those who do.
  7. Just curious as to how common oc is around different areas. I keep 2 guns in my truck and have recently considered open carrying from time to time. Does anyone see it regularly? Opinions? (This could be interesting )
  8. Awesome info, ill be in contact with you as I nail down specifics. Looking like its going to be late October to take advantage of a 4 day weekend my wife has. THANKS
  9. Pretty sure you can still fish, only difference is it doesnt cost as much to do it.
  10. yup, see that now.... Still pretty:)
  11. its always open somewhere. ..... blew out (ish) on me as soon as i got there. To answer your question simply, no it was all fenced off.
  12. O boy......
  13. FREAKING GORGEOUS GOLDEN!!!!!!!
  14. Hard to kill ducks and doves with a new bow. My old mathews sq2 put more deer on my wall than my current newer nicer bow has, in less time. If your old bow is solid try putting new string and cables on it.... it will shoot 100% different. Now I'm all for new toys, but a good shotgun wont depreciate (much) and the best bow on the market today will be obsolete in 5 years (or less)...... something to keep in mind
  15. I have one, not as good as the previous two, and not at night. I left the house, creek was 356 cfs and dropping, I arrive at said creek, looks higher than that (too high to fish). Get home, check gauge its at 420 cfs and going straight up No fishing. bummer
  16. im thinking down below could be exceptional......
  17. Craigslist occasionally has some good ones, dont overpay though. a lot of guys dont think bows depreciate.......
  18. It would surprise me if it wasn't. .....
  19. Nope, local but had family stuff. Maybe after this round of rains.
  20. Those are some solid fish. That water looks like a river on my near future list .
  21. Thanks Ham, I wouldn't have a problem waiting for cooler weather, except i plan to be in the woods with a stick and string once the leaves change. I get a window to do something every 6 weeks +-.... I have been reading plastic worms blog, part of my "inspiration".
  22. I am very seriously considering a mid-late September trip to Venice or Grand Isle to hunt Reds from my kayak. I have virtually 0 experience in saltwater. Is a DIY trip likely to be successful? Are there better options for me? Any ideas, tips, opinions would be much appreciated.
