  1. Bummer, redbird. Our lab is going on 12yo. He's having trouble too. This will be our last dog.
  2. How embarrassing would this be in front of a stadium of people? http://www.ketv.com/sports/23140886/detail.html
  3. Roger that. Still not seeing the actual bumpers.
  4. Hey, Clint. I'm not seeing a file or link, hopefully I haven't gone blind.
  5. Thanks, straw. What's with it and our wives? I end up "letting" my wife get the big ones too. She sits there so quiet and demure......"Oh, I caught another one," as she holds up the keeper of the day.
  6. Every now and then we make a run up to Slim's Cabins in Canada. We go for exactly the reasons stated above. Although the drive is 23 hours from Omaha once we're there we have 40 miles of the river system pretty much to ourselves. To sit out there and listen to Loons for hours on end, to catch incredible fish, share a few stories with the buddies and then drive those stinking 23 hours back.....well it's worth it.
  7. Nice fish. I caught one out of the Missouri River last fall up by Blair Ne. Totally shocked me. Reading the topic heading I thought maybe you had gone 'green' and bought one of those electric Hondas.

Straw, Where you screwed up was you didn't have the orange 'Ozark Anglers' sticker on your hat. In all seriousness though it is very disappointing to hear of the lack of compassion exhibited by those folks. Especially in light of the fact your wife asked them. That is the first incident I've heard of or witnessed around Stockton since we started checking the area out about a year ago. We have found people to be very nice for the most part although I'm sure there are some grumble asses out there having a bad day.
  9. I'm thinking as low as that spot is I'd be bragging!!
  10. [if I could make this happen it would be very awsome for me and my family.] That's the trick, you making it happen. And it's great that you recognize this at a young age. One thing you might have to consider is chasing work. Don't know where you live but unemployed since '08 is a long time. That would stretch anyone's resources.
  11. These folks were for sale last fall. Don't know if they still are. Not a marina so might not be what you're looking for. http://www.cbarjpainthorses.com/ http://www.cbarjpainthorses.com/Our_Place.html
  12. Studies have shown that single guys who play golf are thinner than their married counterparts. The way this fact was determined was as follows: the single golfer goes out and plays a round of golf, has a refreshment at the 19th hole, goes home and finds nothing decent in the refrigerator, so he goes to bed. The married golfer goes out and plays his round of golf, has a refreshment at the 19th hole, goes home and goes to bed, finds nothing decent there, so he goes to the refrigerator.
  13. [Little bit of wind in the forcast, though.] Yeah, hopefully those are the high side @ 18.
  14. Looking great the next few days. Unfortunately we can't make it until the next weekend which is starting to look like crap. Enjoy it folks! It was a long, stinkin' winter and we are looking forward to a vacation the following week. Forecast: http://www.weather.com/outlook/homeandgarden/home/tenday/USMO0839

    "with Envy"

[.........will experience optical illusions........] whoa, it winked at me. I have of book of similar paintings/drawings. With some of those you have to be just right to the picture and eventually the illusion jumps out at you, literally. I think sometimes I work too hard for the illusion.
  16. [......... but can't be good for the fish.] That's for sure. That reminds me of when I was a little kid my mom use to grab me by the ear............never mind, that's a different story for another time.
  17. Welcome! I've only been here a short time myself. The folks here are great and have offered a lot of great answers. So far we've only fished Stockton, new to the area. Happy fishing.
  18. The Dead Animal Artist is correct about the 2-part. I couldn't remember what we used when we did our boat but here's a link my son sent me this morning. This is what we used..... http://www.mertons.com/Floatation/index.html
  19. [i bet it will be busy busy this weekend.] You guys are obviously more familiar with the lake than I am. When are good times to stay away from the lake? What kind of pressure do you see on the lake? The few times we visited last summer we only saw a couple of jet skis, quite a few ski boats, sailboats, pontoons, some house boats, obviously bass boats, but the one time it was Labor Day weekend. During the week when we've been there it's pretty tame. Right about this time of year I could see it being heavy pressure for fishing especially after this crappy winter. "BusyBusy" sounds like a zoo to me. Is it that bad?
  20. Thanks hooked! Seems like this has been a very windy spring just about everywhere. We have a vacation planned on Stockton the week of April 17-24. Chompin at the bit to hook the boat up and get rolling!
  21. Thanks, kcbear. Check your pm box.
  22. Any updates on this story? It sounds like the lake was busy this weekend.
  23. Customer service, especially. I bought a new boat last summer. It came with an X-135 which failed on our second time on the water. The boat dealer themselves couldn't get Lowrance to respond for the longest time. Finally sent it in late September and got it back in late February. I'll run it on my trolling motor as a secondary but I'm switching brands. I was recommended to J and H Electronics up in Michigan for a good deal by someone on here and it panned out as a very good referral. However it's always good to support the locals if they provide good service and good deals. We live in Omaha and you pretty much pay the sticker price and all you can hope for is someone to know something about the particular item you want.
  24. Good morning and congratulations! It has everything to do with fishing and family. Many of us on here plan our trips around family. My dad did that for me, I did for my children and now our grandchildren look forward to family outings which include fishing.
