Ham I would agree on sensitivity on almost every rod but the crankbait rod. Some of the best ones are fiberglass with tons of bend. You almost want the opposite. If you feel the bite you might pull it out of their mouth. They can't put any leverage on a flimsy rod therefore the lure stays hooked. This is just my opinion. I'm sure there are pros for the more sensitive rods as well. If you ever want to try one of my crappy Skeet rods let me know I'll let you try one out.
I use a Skeet Reese S-Glass rod sometimes. It is horrible quality but it is super flimsy. When a fish bites the crankbait they cannot shake it off. It's acts like a fiberglass rod. The guides fall off all the time. Have to buy new ones every now and then. I think once I replace all of them it will be a good rod. ?
There is a Children's hospital and a Sam's Club going by Arvest ballpark. Upcoming is a few hotels. No mention of Bass Pro as of now. My brother does bids on almost all new commercial construction jobs in the area. If anything is coming within the next year or so he usually knows before most folks.
I tried to post a video from my phone yesterday but couldn't get it to upload. He was in an acrobatic plane yesterday doing barrel rolls, flying upside down and going straight up til his plane stalled and would plummet down in a spiral. It was impressive.
Strike King 4, 5xd and 3xd are good baits. 3xd is very light and harder to throw but it dives deep for its size. Bandits are good too. I just started using them in Oklahoma last year. Solid black is a great color on the Arkansas River.
You can't go wrong with a shakey head or drop shot when you are in the back. In bfl if the co angler can just catch one keeper a tournament they make the regional. Your chances increase dramatically with finesse presentations.
I was co-angler at Ft.gibson a few years back. It was during spawn. My boater had nuzzled in between 2 docks. I was face to face with outside walls of docks on both sides. He did this for about 45 minutes. I waited til he moved boat a little closer to the bank. I had a tiny target area to throw to. I ended up catching the biggest fish in our boat that day. It was 3lb range. I didn't do great but I did weigh in more than my boater that day. Quite satisfying
No doubt Champ. My previous day partner spun the hub on his Ranger in the middle of the wide part of the lake. If any of you have been on Rayburn you know that's a stretch especially when you are using trolling motor to get to the bank. Needless to say I didn't do very good the first day so I didn't mind helping the second day. I learned more watching and helping than I would have fishing. Long drive for a lesson though. That's partly why I started fishing out of the front. If something goes wrong I can't blame anyone but me.
They did an interview with Jeremy Lawyer. He's from Sarcoxie. Good dude and great fisherman. I drew him in a regional on Sam Rayburn. He put on a clinic. Half way through the day I had zero keepers so I quit fishing and helped him however I could. He finished in second place. He catches them on every body of water he's on. That's when you know someone is a legitimate stick.
