Sore Thumbs

First of all I was being funny. Secondly, if you are gonna tell me that Beaver lake has the same quality of bass as Table Rock then your aren't paying attention. I understand you enjoy striper fishing and that's cool. I'm not gonna get into a debate about it, but in my opinion Stripers are the difference between the two. I know it's more complicated than that but thats the main difference anyway. I love catching them myself its just not the same as lakes to the north.

Sorry to add this Champ. We did not rid the lake of that striper. We tossed it back to feast on our diminishing shad population. ☺

Champ. Most people here are gracious enough to give out good information. I figured on the rare occasion that I can contribute, I'm gonna do it. Just sucks that the one time I'm in the middle of a huge school is during a tournament. I didn't do worth a crap. In hindsight I should have stayed and wacked on those instead.

Good to go sir. His time was up and I'm at peace with it. He was almost 91 years old. I hope I live that long. He was a great man and I will miss him.

Jerkbait. My buddy caught a striper on a big spinner bait.

The stripes were not broken up. Pretty sure it was a white.

Fyi. Found a school in North Clifty area. Last big creek to the right. They were in the back of creek. Huge whites. Caught one that was at least 4lbs. Unfortunately I was fishing bass tourney and couldn't stay.

Last weekend I was catching them in the same way. Didn't matter how fast I was working it. Faster was definitely better than slower.

Wonder if those even make a difference?

Gonna try it Sunday. Funny thing is. There are all these videos talking about it, but haven't seen one person actually catching something on it. Megabass usually makes good products. Everywhere I look people are complaining about the price. Rightfully so.

Champ. Isn't there small bb's in the newer ones and a single lead ball in the old ones?

Got my hands on one for $16.99. Normally they are $25. Gonna give it a try. It is supposed to be fished slow. It is a suspending bait. It lifts slowly and the tentacles are free floating. Hope it works.

There is a big channel swing just inside the War Eagle arm that has structure on both ends. It is the one that swings to the left after you get in the river arm. Im no crappie fisherman but I see a lot of them in that area. Good place to try.

Me too. That's why I drove up to Missouri to go fishing. Ha. Still had fun.

It was very odd 5bites. Usual places to catch wiggle wart fish were no good. Points with wind using a jb was the only deal for me today.

Yeah Plug. I've been watching videoes about rod and line size. Tutorials on how to use it and how to make it move different directions. I threw a bbz 4 inch shad some today. No takers.

I know. I thought my gauge was messed up til I went down lake and back. Funny thing is. I caught more fish there. The quality was not as good.

Put in at Holiday Island this morning. Caught a few around the old bridge at the mouth of Leatherwood on Sk 3xd in Olive green craw and 1/2 oz jig. At the mouth of the north side of Holiday island Marina. I caught 4 or 5 on a jerkbait Ellagy Bone colored. Moving it fairly quick. Fished from there to Eagle Rock without a bite for several hours ( no wind or rain at the time). Got tired of not catching anything and took a long boat ride from ER to the Kings. Just wanted to see how far it was. Rain and wind started back around 11 and the fish started biting again. Lost my first jerk bait so I tied on a Pro Blue II. Caught a few more. Not as good of a day as I had anticipated but caught 11 total with one 3lbr. Crankbait bite was tough for me today. Water temps were 48 at HI and 53 by the Kings.

The wife may frown on that. Ha

The Table Rock one is the same day i have a Bfl event. Dangit. It's my Birthday that day too. Ha
