Congrats. Thought about going til I looked at radar and crawled back in bed . I don't mind hunting in the cold but I draw the line with rain if can help it .

Did until the wind picked up than it was just short of white capping. Jerk line broke up the glassy look until the wind picked up

Had plans to put the boat in and run about 4 miles down the lake and hunt a main lake flat that usually produces when the conditions are right like yesterday. Boat starts right up and let it run while i park the truck. Go to take off and it wont get up on plane, doesn't die or cut out just no power to get up on plane. So just idle across the ramp to one of the main lake cuts and sit there and see what happens which wasn't much . Get everything setup and go to move the boat and open it up and it jumps right up on plane and runs like nothing is is wrong?????? Decide to just sit there and not push it especially as cold as it was not there being nothing down lake incase I do have boat problems. Not much was flying yesterday morning but still enjoyed the hunt non the less and managed to harvest 2 gaddies that couldn't resist the soft pink glow of the flamingo . Sat til almost noon and only seen about a dozen ducks total 5 of those being divers flying the lake that wouldn't swing into the cut. Only heard 2 or 3 shots from one volley all morning.

Congrats, wish our river hunt was as good yestetday but it just wasn't meant to be. Open water just no birds to speak of.

When your done with them over there FnF send them back over this way before the 25th. I've got a few things I need to discuss with em as well .

Know there's a reloading forum but my target audience I believe is on here and doesn't look like that forum gets hit much. Thinking of getting into to reloading steel/non toxic and just curious what the cost savings are if any compare to buying off the shelf? Been looking for a new hobby and why not do something during the off season to stock up for upcoming duck seasons .

Slept in myself, started working midnight shift this past week and on days starting this week so it's got me all jacked up on my sleep pattern. Boys went out this morning and managed to scratch out 4 greenheads and said they'd seen quite a few more than they have been just couldn't get em to finish.

Same reason I've spent more time sitting up in a tree instead of in a duck blind.

Figure as slow as its been gotta do something to mix it up .

Notice the soft pink glow . Should of had my limit on gaddies but I must of grabbed the saw dust rounds of shells because I had trouble convincing most anything I shot to stop, drop, and die. Did manage to dropped 3 early and while chasing down 2 cripples with the dog had a dang eagle swoop down and steal the one that did drop dead for an easy meal. Pretty cool to watch with in a 100 yards of me none the less. Pretty slow morning considering I thought I'd see more flying around with this cold front. Seen maybe 2 dozen gaddies and think some of those were just the same half dozen or so flying back and forth up and down the creek. Also a group of 4 hooded mergansers give me a fly by before I could get a shot off.

Will do next hunt, don't think the neighbor will notice their flamingos missing .

Love the pink hat . Not that it's related but I've seemingly jokingly told a buddy I'm going to start using flamingo dekes in the spread to mix it up .

Started out as a bow hunt this morning but after having half a dozen greenheads fly over not once but 3 times chuckling/heckling me decided to swap the bow for the gun and do a pond jump. Long story short ended up with 2 greenheads and drake hoodie after 4 shots on 2 different ponds. Turned out to be a good morning even tho the deer weren't moving.

Congrats and way to get it done again. Take that stab in the dark over my stab this morning. Ran late getting to hole I wanted to hit that had about 40 gads sitting on it last week due to waiting on a fresh pot of Joe at the gas station. Not knowing if they'd been hunted decided to give it ago anyways. Throwing out dekes had 6 gads try land on me right at shooting time. Thought alright might just be good after all. Nope sat for 3 hours and nothing else but 2 mergansers that gave me a flyby and a bunch of seagulls. Didn't have high hopes but expected a few more than that.

Congrats on finding some birds and converting a few more goat hunters to the feathered side. Still waiting on em to show up over this way.

A lot better than the deer hunting is going for me . Ready for some consistent duck weather and ducks to get here.
