Listened to Linkin Park to and from the fishing hole tonight.

Went to Cotter to fish the White tonight. Mega caddis hatch goin on. There were so many caddis coming off the water that at times it looked like a snow storm. I tried to get a pic, but by the time I got the camera ready, they would slow down. I did manage to get a pic of one that landed on my arm though. Also got this pic of a brown I caught tonight on a olive bugger.

Except for insects that don't normally swim upstream. A mayfly nymph swimming upstream will not look natural to a trout and they won't eat it.

The biggest problem with farm subsidies is that very little of that money makes to the mom & pop farmers. The vast majority of it goes to the corporate farms. And I'm not talking about those little co-op farms either. I'm talking about the mega acre farms run by the likes of Monsanto. That is the biggest complaint that most people have with the farm bill. More pork for the already rich corporats.

Firefighters battle Buffalo National River blazePosted 4/14/2011 6:16 PM ET PONCA, Ark. (AP) — The National Park Service says firefighters are battling a forest fire in a wilderness area of the Buffalo National River in north Arkansas. A news release said that the fire Thursday was human-caused, and under investigation. The park service said the blaze was in the Ponca Wilderness Area northeast of the Newton County community of that name. That wilderness area includes some of the most spectacular features of the park, including Big Bluff and the Hemmed-in Hollow waterfall. The agency said U.S. Forest Service crews were fighting the fire, along with personnel of the Compton Volunteer Fire Department. The release said two trails in the wilderness area were closed to hiking because of the fire — the Center Point trail to Sneed Creek and the Chimney Rock trail. Copyright 2011 The Associated Press. All I can say is; NICE.

One thing I've learned is to not tie one fly of a certain pattern. Always have several in case you lose that one fly that is producing.

I thought about telling him the fish are in the water till I seen he was a relative newbie to this forum.

I did enjoy the coloring on that fish. Didn't notice the white on the fin tho. Gonna have to back and look again. Not a chance. When you coming down again? Ya know they got some nice golf courses for ya down here.

Well, I guess I should try that. Post really HUGE pictures of my little fish and make them look really big. Nice to have caught one though, eh? I was planning on going up there today but my arm is still sore from all the fish yesterday on the Norfork.

Should be goin' to the river (or local pond) to try out a new fly rod. And I don't hate golf, I just hate the golfers tryin' to hit me with their little balls when I'm fishin' that water trap next to the 9th hole.

Then spend less "TIME' golfing too. FISH ON!!!!!!

Quit spending money on golf and you could make two trips a month. Just think of all the "ditch pigs" you could be catching instead of chasing a little white ball around with a club. Besides, "GOLF IS FOR PEOPLE WHO DON'T KNOW HOW TO FISH"
