  1. You are correct about that boat ramp. So what is it like going down from the Lower Access to the White? Is it pretty much a do-able thing? Or is pretty much just like upstream toward Hwy 101 where there's mostly gravel and willow thickets?
  2. CC is pretty small and you'll RARELY (if ever) see a power boat on it. The one time I did, I was amazed. Especially when it had to have gone over the slab.
  3. Horizontally.
  4. From what I've heard/read, it gets pretty low on the Norfork and that is why they keep turning it on, to keep the DO up.
  5. They obviously have more work to do. Right now, the water is pouring through an 8 foot gap. That would be a heck of a boat ride if the water levels were any higher. The whole west bank is being redone. They are planting trees and placing rock etc. along the west shore. You can still drive down to the creek and launch from the east side, but as Finley says, you then have to drive back around to park, or park at the lot at the top of the hill.
  6. Turning on the generators for an hour in the AM and again in the PM would actually cost them more money than they would make. They do it for D.O.
  7. Any time you wanna lip one, let me know. I'll get the camera. And if you're really lucky, the first-aid kit.
  8. A medium light to medium action spinning rod with a 6-10 pound test line will work for most trout fishing. Curly tailed grubs on 1/16-1/8 ounce jig heads will produce. Small spoons will work. Small Rapala minnows will work. If all else fails, there's always power bait. (But I wouldn't use it myself.)
  9. Or not rich enough to hire a guide, and/or skilled enough as a fisherman to figure it out.
  10. That's what I'm talking about right there.
  11. I don't think they would want to put up with all the bs and bickering that's on here. Just some clear cut info on fishing with a good cup of coffee and a bagel.
  12. These fish are hard on tackle. And notice the way I'm holding it? I ain't gonna lip one of these guys.
  13. That's what I thought.
  14. And where is this fishing spot?
  15. "Anglers Coffee Cafe" @ Blue Ribbon Fly Shop in Mountain Home, AR.
  16. The Gunnison River is in the Black Canyon in CO. I've always wanted to fish that from the first time I saw it in a magazine. Well known for giant salmonfly hatches. You can Google "Gunnison River" and a whole lot of info pops up. In my neck of the woods, there's some really great fishing. The White River, Norfork River, Crooked Creek, Buffalo National River... Then there's also some great fishing in my home state of Wisconsin. Depends on what you want to fish for and I could point you in a good direction. Don't know of any guides up there except for "The Fly Fishers" fly shop run by Pat Ehlers in Milwaukee.
  17. Here's a Google map.
  18. The picture was taken from the west side of the creek. I drove across the bridge and parked in the parking area. There currently is no place to launch a boat, but a canoe or kayak should be no problem. They are still working on everything down there and I don't foresee the work being done anytine soon.
  19. It's all changing. The AGFC has gone in and redone the whole stream bank in this area. Kinda looks more like a park setting more than a wild river right now.
  20. You can bet that there has got to be a few females around. Unless the MDC wants us to believe these particular cats are of the variety that rhymes with bags.
  21. Keep on posting those reports and show them pictures. I enjoy them too. And I don't care how you hold them and if someone don't like it, then they don't have to look. You don't like Hustler magazine? Then don't buy it. Don't like a certain tv show? Change the channel. Does that need to be explained anymore?????????
  22. Whatever. Vertical is up and down, and horizontal is across like this -------. It's best to hold ALL fish in a horizontal postition. It's also best not to hold a fish by the lip without belly support.
  23. I'd go fish the Gunnison in CO.
  24. Worry about it in another topic.
