  1. Sank into the ocean?
  2. I think that was Columbus when he sank two of his ships and still found the new land which was later named America.
  3. I think the debate on "global warming" is useless. Some of us believe the science and some of us believe Fox News. And that is not likely to change anytime soon.
  4. You know what I drive.
  5. I used to use the loopdy-do thing until I could no longer see that 6x tippet where it entered the leader loop. Tying a surgeons knot is hard enough but still manageable unless my hands are frozen.
  6. Probably won't work for dry flies. I use a triple surgeons knot for my leader to tippet knot.
  7. The only real solution to this global warming thing is to nuke the whole darn planet and let it start over all by itself. If there is a god, it was his biggest mistake putting us here.
  8. Having lived most of my life in the Great Lakes area, I can tell you that Buffalo, NY is no stranger to snow. As far back as I can remember Buffalo always got a lot of snow.
  9. Hope you didn't hurt yourself.
  10. You guys are showing your age here. I used to watch his show, but that was soooooooo long ago...
  11. I am surprised nobody suggested using a San Juan worm.
  12. Or is it just the billionaires in the fossil fuel industry that are trying to manipulate the science in order to make billions more by destroying our planet by pushing their agenda and not trying to fix the problem?
  13. Right now I'm thinking of tying a version of the woollybugger that I have caught most of my trout on this year. That may change if I can't find the right materials I need.
  14. What is absurd is the amount of damage we (humans) have already done to destroy this planet. What is absurd is that there are some among us that are so stubborn that they do not want to try to fix the mess we made.
  15. Is that the only one ya got last season?
  16. Such as ignoring the problem and have faith it will go away?
  17. Except nobody wants the nuclear waste burried in their own back yards.
  18. My flies aren't exactly creatures of beauty either and they do catch fish. As for showing them to others, I have no problem with that. I get to see their flies and learn some new ideas.
  19. The way I see this hype about global warming is: 1) We can ignore it and maybe it will go away. 2) We as a country, can lead the world to alternative fuel sources and hopefully stem the problem or at least clean up this planet. 3)Keep burning fossil fuels and ruin this planet. Nobody can tell me that fossil fuels are not doing damage to this planet. Nor can anybody tell me that cutting down all the rain forests is a good idea. If you want to be on the side of #3 above, let's pave the whole planet in the name of progress and build coal fired plants, nuclear plants, and build cars that only get 2 miles to the gallon so we can all drive "safe cars" that will tow our big expensive gas guzzeling boats to the water that no longer exists because we paved over it. Whether or not "global warming" is real, it's time to take a stand and do something about keeping this planet healthy.
  20. No problem with another tyer joining in. I'll get started on my ties when I get back from the holidays. Gotta see what kind of materials they have at the shop up in WI.
  21. I am going to tie two versions of the same fly.
  22. Ha ha ha. Join the swap and you'll get some. I got a camera too.
  23. Took this pic tonight.
  24. I would have gone with the T120, but the T140 is only 2 feet longer. Plus it's 3 inches narrower. I do plan on taking it out on Lake Norfork. That's the main reason I went with the T140. A little longer and narrower so it should have a little less drag in the water for when I'm on the lake. I don't see having any problems on Crooked Creek or the Buffalo or any other river with it. My main concern was using it on Lake Norfork. We'll definately have to plan getting together some time.
  25. I have a Tarpon 140 on order. Should come in later this month. I'd love to do that float someday. I thought of going down using my pontoon. We'll see what the spring holds for me. i wanted to get out and fish the Norfork today, but I didn't wake up till almost noon and I'm not feeling too good today. Maybe the next dry warm spell will find me on the water.
