  1. Unless of course you're just too far right.
  2. What the...?! I'm a liberal and I really don't care about the people walking behind me when I'm fishing. I'll try to keep my eye out for them, but if they get too close, it's their own dam problem. Liberal or not.
  3. Tell them that you are fishing and they are encroaching on your zone. If they get hit/hooked, it would be their responsibility as I'm sure they would have seen a backcast before they got close enough to get hooked. I had that problem fishng a small pond in a park once back in WI. I was fishing from the bank of the pond and people kept walking right behind me. One old man told me to be careful as a backcast came close to him. I told him that I was there trying to fish and he was interfering with me legally participating in a sport protected by state law. He just mumbled something and walked away.
  4. Those weren't cicada's you was shootin' at you drunken fool. Them was pterodactyls!!!
  5. I am going to have to drop out of this swap. After moving, everything is a mess and I can't find my materials for the fly I was tying. Catch me in the next swap.
  6. With all the rain lately, the water temps have only been in the 60's. Trout can survive in that. How long it took to get way upstream and how long it will take to get back to the White, I would have no idea. But with the heat we're seeing around here now, the river will warm up and if any trout in the Buffalo don't head back soon, they will die. Of course there may be a cold water spring flowing into the Buffalo way up river where trout can survive year round.
  7. I don't mind eating panfish. I just don't like being out fishing all day and then have to clean a mess of fish when I get home.
  8. All the lakes along the White River System are experiencing flood conditions and will be passing a lot of water through the dams in the from of heavy generation and open spill ways. Here is a link the the COE web site that will give you lake levels and the level of the discharge. Only experience will tell you when the discharge level is safe for wading as it is in feet above sea level. There are also phone numbers to call but I'm not sure what it is over there for Beaver. SWPA also gives the average discharge in CFS on their web site, but it is not to be relied upon too heavily. In fact, if they have spillways open, that will not show up on the website at all. Just click on the day over on the left.
  9. Nope. I hate cleaning fish and rarely if ever keep any.
  10. Norfork @ 2 full units is approximately 7200 (7.2k) cfs. Less than 1/10 of what's coming out of Bull Shoals.
  11. When are people going to wake the F up and stay away from the water when it's dangerous? I've drank a 12 pack tonight and I still wouldn't get close to the river.
  12. What time is the memorial? Wish I'd have known earlier. I'd love to give some of those westboro people a piece of my mind and fist.
  13. Possibly. But the overall markings and colors are those of a green sunfish. I had another picture of another fish (green sunfish) I caught in the same area on the same day, but I don't know what happened to it. Must have been deleted.
  14. I'll only use the fishing reports to get an idea of where to start and change as needed.
  15. Westboro Baptist Church Plans Protest for Joplin MO "On its website, the church writes, "Thank God for 125 dead in Joplin.'" "The Westboro Baptist Church believes tragedies like the tornado are God's punishment on Americans for accepting homosexuality." Maybe, hopefully, one day their church will be hit by a tornado and they will realize that it was god's way of punishing them for their sins of stupidity.
  16. The searches I did all show the green sunfish with the black spot on the dorsal. Although I wouldn't doubt that it may be a cross with something. But for now, I'm calling it a green sunfish.
  17. Firefox has it's own problems. I've had problems with FF reading the code on the webpage and it wouldn't open the page. I won't go back to FF.
  18. I had the same problem. Also had problems getting back to the previous page with the back button. I deleted IE9 and went back to IE8. Just delete IE9 and IE8 will be there. Can't say what's gonna happen with new computers that come with IE9 though. Might end up getting stuck with a bunch of problems until MS gets their act together and puts out a patch.
  19. That's funny. A lot of us would like to get up to your neck of the woods to fish the Yakima, and the John Day in Oregon.
  20. Very nice pics. Will you disclose the location of those falls? I'd like to get some pics of some good falls for myself.
  21. When you scroll that first one back and forth, you can really get a feel for how much damage was done. The before and after picture of all those houses is amazing. Sure hope I never have to see an F5 come toward me.
  22. Of course, checking the USGS gages will help too. Always check them before heading out so you don't end up finding the stream blown out, or too low to float when you get there.
  23. What kind of friend would let their friend try to swim across the river when it's in flood stage and flowing several thousand cfs?
  24. Here are a few more pics from the White River below Bull Shoals Dam. Of course the first pic is the dam itself. The second pic is the boat launch just below the dam. These pics were taken around 1:30 this afternoon.
