Pretty sure they were fishing the jack pot, all I saw them boat were bass, all the eyes I have seen have been around Rambo creek mouth but I have been fishing Table rock more than Beaver. I only catch eyes by accident though.

I was a Prarie Creek Friday night when the jackpot started but I was stuck pulling a tube for my 19 year old daughter (I will never do that again) but I did see a boat limit out right at the park right next to the swiming area fishing the drop off. I think there is a fish attractor right near were they were fishing. I was there from 7pm until about 10pm and never saw them move the boat one foot but I saw the net come out 3 times and the times the net didn't come out for a fish it went into the live well anyway. They can't claim I gave away a secret spot since if you launched at Praire Creek Friday night you would have seen them.

Are you increasing your sensentivty? If so another "trick" I learned from the owners manual is to clean the transducer. It sounds funny since mine is so beat up from scaping rocks but a little window cleaner and a rag does wonders. Now if I could just keep from beating up the wire on the trolling motor.

Never hurts to restock the tackle.

I am all about simple and sitting in the house I can tie just about any knot but on the water looking for my hooks, worms, drop shot weights and working the trolling motor against the wind I want simple and fast or I will drop the drop shot rod and pick up a baitcaster. For this time the J knot wins out, one loop, three wraps and pull tight. It isn't the smallest but it works and is fast and easy. I used to tie a blood knot or double uni but I would stop on about the third breakoff and go to swivel to save time, but I think this J knot will be the answer. After looking at the surgens knot though I can't tell the difference, so maybe I have been using the surgens knot?

On the subject of painting, I really like the top waters and Jerkbaits from Net Craft they are just like Sammys and pointers and the unpainted ones are really cheap. I really wish I had the skills to paint. But if you are buying LC to repaint you really need to try the Net craft unpainted baits I don't think you will be able to the the difference, except you can buy 5 for the price of 1 LC.

The J knot is simple and easyand supposed to be as strong as any other. I like a swivel.knot wars

Yesterday I went out at about 4:30pm until dark out of houseman's access and fished down to Holiday Island. Found a lot of trout on top in the cold water, backseater caught and released a 16in rainbow on a white spoon. Went down almost to the town of Beaver and found 72 degree water and started catching bass one good keeper a lot of shorts thowing 4in worms and split tail grubs against the shore. Motored downed to HI and found 84 degrees and my backseater hit a 18in KY right on shore, boat was in 30ft of water. Together we probally had 15 short fish to include a 17in walleye that hit a 7in purple worm in 12ft of water. Went back to 54 degree water and hit a 16in KY that was as fat as long with some shorts with him, boat was in 4ft of water and we were casting into the rocks. Would not have made a tournament sack, but was a nice cool trip and almost constant action. We were throwing the worms on a drop shot and draging and using the grubs on a 1/8 oz jig head.

You set it by hitting ZIN & ZOUT at the same time, you edit the MOB icon like any other waypoint. To delete a waypoint from the map: 1. Use the arrow keys to select the waypoint with the cursor. 2. Press WPT|↓ to DELETE WAYPOINT|ENT|← to YES|ENT. To return to the previous page and clear the cursor, press EXIT. To delete all waypoints at one time: 1. Press MENU|MENU|↓ to SYSTEM SETUP|ENT|↓ to DELETE ALL MY WAYPOINTS| ENT|← to YES|ENT. To return to the previous page, press EXIT|EXIT.

We could use that over in Beaver also since most of the time law enforcement can't get a boat running on the water around here I would hate to need an ambulance out there and be dependate on a 911 operator and abulance driver trying to match GPS cordinates with a map. I have seen the Game wardens and Benton County sherrif trying to get a boat on the water at the same time and ended up depending on bass fisherman for boats. I always feel safer on Table Rock and this will help even more IMO. I also believe if anyone is going to steal from a dock it would be eaiser from the water.

Just wondering if you caught any of these,My link

My wife likes to drop shot at night and will always switch to a 4in black worm as soon as the sun goes down. I have never seen her catch a keeper doing that, a lot of bluegill and small bass. I am a believer the bigger and louder at night the better. IMO drop shots are a sight presentation and at night you are limiting that part of the strike zone so it would really be a hit them on the head type of thing. Excepections would be full moons with no clouds and lighted docks when the fish are using their eyes more than their lateral lines.

Are you looking at a fishfinder/gps or just a fishfinder? I have a Eagle 480 with GPS and maps will run about 500 but I would recommend a color fishfinder probally a hummingbird if you just need a graph.

I can't answer half of those questions but I do know that stripers will move toward the river when the water starts to warm near 50 in the spring. Then once they leave the river they will be scattered all over the lake until the water starts warming into the 70s they move North. Once the water temp is in the upper 80s and 90s they will be close to the darn in the deepest water in the lake. There seems to be some that live around point 12 all year also. In the late winter and early spring when it still hurts your hands to fish, they are very active in the creeks eating the dieing shad and jerk baits in 6-10 ft of water rule and limits can be reached in an hour. This time of year midnight to 7am seems to be the best times. The secret is to watch the shad and find what they are doing. The shad will move to the top to spawn all through the summer and anywhere you find shad all together you will find stripers. I would not recommend a patoon boat just because they are slow and hard to get on a trailer. IMO a deep V fishing boat would serve you better and a center consol is more common for striper fishing. You will need to move a lot to find them and have some good electronics to locate both the shad and fish. Pulling umberalla rigs is another proven method for finding those big fish. There should be some real striper fishermen along soon, I am a bass guy that just plays with stripers when the bass are frozen.

I know at Beaver they were advertising in the paper for a few years to drop your trees so the Corps could build brush piles with them, but in the last two years they have just given the location of the boat ramps and published that fishermen will pick them up and place them in the lake. FYI old Christams trees make a heck of a mess and weight them at the bottom.

I added a switch so I can run off Battery1 (starting Battery) Battery2 (trolling motor batteies) or "ALL" and sometimes after running the trolling motor hard and running lights and pumps and GPS the All switch is not enough to start the engine so that is when the extra battery in the boat gets hooked up. Then sometimes I will start on Batt1 then make a long run on Batt2 to recharge the trolling batteries, since I only have a 54lb trolling motor running on high all the time.

Does the Braid cut into your guides or do you yuse a rod with stainless guides? I have debated switching to this situp but I am afraid I will ruin the guides on my drop shot rod.

You got it, Big M is about as close from Rogers as Running to the darn.

When the water gets rough I head to the bluff walls, the deeper and steeper the better. Seems like the rough water knocks the craws out of the rocks and if you can find a few spots there are probally some smallmouth in the same area. They do move around a lot so it is more of a pattern than spot, I have got hung up on spots and wasted a lot of time. Best area this time of year is North from Holiday Island.

I know when I say 40ft, I mean 40ft and a lot of times this time of year it is deeper. There is a belief that there is no dissolved oxygen in water below the thermocline but that is only if the water is dirty enough that light does not penatrate to the deeper water. It's the algie and other water plants that give off oxygen and when they die they sink to the bottom and give off carbon dixoide, but if light can get down 80ft then those plants can live at that depth and turn that carbon dixoide back to oxygen. I know what you mean about seeing so many fish up shallow, I will snorkle over an area I have fished this time of year and see big bass and walleye sitting in the rocks I just covered, it is really amazing how many game fish are there when you get in the water and see them for yourself. The fact you saw so many crawdads in the open when you dove deep tells me that is a good feeding ground. Did you get a temp reading at 26ft?

I have a soild blue one but you might want to look at the "Rebal Yell" to match the speed demon boat. lol

2 points 1. I always keep an extra hat in the boat and truck. 2. Save face, they are over priced but great. I see no reason for smoked lens though, if I need it I need the clear lens. Sounds like a good morning anyway.

I was drop shoting Wendsday night up to dark and only hitting shorts. After dark went to pitching a jig up against the bluffs near prarie creek had one pole bender with nothing but drag until it busted me off. That just shows you should retie when draging rocks. Wendsday night jackpoters were all talking about fishing off long points and 25-30 ft of water. Really nice picture by the door at hook, line & sinker with 3 bass total 14lbs with a 7lb kicker all on an umbrella rig at once.

That would earn a phone call or e-mail from me to let him know how wrong that is. Where ever he is, I hope he never again has a good day.

Table Rock is generating harder then Beaver to move all that water so there should be a cool current flowing somewhere. Did anyone target channel swings? When the current gets steady like this they should pile up on main lake points but I have been unable to get out since they started moving water.
