  1. Not that this river needs more pressure cause it has plenty already, it certainly has its days. I would say on average you better have 14# till mid July to cash a check. I remember in a 10 boat tourney and I had 18# and thought I had it in the bag till a guy pull 23# out of his boat. Sux to get beat by 5# with a 18# bag.
  2. Well I've seen almost 30# win It and over 25# win it multiple times. But this year something was off. Bet it takes over 17#'s this weekend in the gasconade clubs open
  3. 30 boats first was just under 15#, second was #13 something, and third was 11# It was really tough with that much water in the river I would have bet money on at least 20#'s to win.
  4. Sunday May 24, 2015 7-2 St Thomas ramp Information and entry forms available at www.osagebassclub.com
  5. Heard it took 26# second was 24# and some 22# bags weighed
  6. Tough fishing right now on the middle Osage from St Thomas to St Elizabeth. Went out for the first time since late July and it was tough. In four hours I had 7 shorts and one keeper bass. The keeper was just 12". Had a friend I met on the water with his son whom had 2 keeper in the same amount of time. The Missouri has it backwatered up above Bob Brulley and the water temps are in the low to middle 80's. Heard that 8# won the tourney out of St Thomas on Sunday. That just assured me that until we get some rain to move some water in the river or the Missouri drops it's just going to stay tough till the water temps come down. On a side note early Saturday morning there were about 10 jugs in the river floating at my first stop, looked like 4 or 5 of them had fish on so the catfishing maybe fairly good. Didn't talk to anyone to confirm.
  7. Took off to the river yesterday. The overnight rain had the river full of trash and the creeks were really muddy. Fished 5 hours had 15 keepers mostly pitching in the creeks from the mouths to back. I had a couple of fish chase the bait but all of the strikes I had were on the intial fall. The better Kentuckies were on wood.
  8. Check out the open buddy tourney $120 per boat with big bass, it's alot of fun there is beer and door prizes after the tourney. Been in the club for several years now and it's always a good turn out and a good tourney.Osage Bass Club
  9. Sorry guys hadn't looked in a week. Boobie we fished right around coffman, I like Mill Creek but Soap is good too. Fished a bass club tourney over the weekend and so I don't know how the crappie were doing but I would think that similar stuff would work. The jig fish we caught were in 8 to 10' about 3 or 4' down we were casting to piles and just bringing the jigs over them, I had heard they were really shallow that week and we caught a few in really shallow water but the 8 to 10' was our better bite. The jerkbait deal for me is hit or miss, if you get bit you can usually catch several, like I said we were fishing a secondary points, the fish we caught were scattered around brush but not necessarily in it. I was using a megabass 110 and my partner was throwing a lc pointer.
  10. Fished yesterday water temps were from 45 to 48. We started out with jigs and caught about 20 then we went to look for some bass spots for our club tourney next week. Fishing seconds with jerkbaits and we pulled on a point that was stacked with crappie 14 to 15 inchers. Then we wished we hadn't started with jigs, took us about 10 minutes to get those last fish and we were still catch em when we left em. Not that I'm complaining but it's had to have 9 inchers in the box and throw back 14's. I know tough problem to have. With the weather forecast for next week it's only going to get better.
  11. Osage Bassmaster Schedule In case someone wants to play with the green fish this year, great club lots of good members and fun.
  12. That's a good part of the river to catch some quality fish. I don't think the braid is that big of a deal I normally use mono and some florocarbon, although it might be if the water is really clear. I fish some tourney's down the river and if the river is up in the 12 to 14' range usually a few boat will run to the dam. The rip rap banks up by the dam can be great for largemouth when they are running water. It doesn't take much of a current break to hold fish, any slack water up by the bank can hold fish. That's the good thing about the river most of the time it's a shallow water deal. If I was just looking for fish in a new part of the river I would tie on a white spinnerbait and a brown or greenpumpkin jig and cover water till something eats one or the other. The topwater bite on the river can be good all day.
