  1. Congratulations on the win! Any time you beat the Friday night Mill Creek boys you have accomplished something. It takes more than an average night to compete with that group, good job!
  2. With the water level high, I think it would be tough to walk the bank around Bull Shoals right now unless its a field or a yard.
  3. Chris, Those remind me of a Riverside Big Claw or a Mister Twister Fightin' Craw. Surely they wouldn't still hit those old junky plastic craws anymore would they? Jeremy
  4. I have 3 Stan Sloan blacklights and that is the only light I would recommend. I keep one with 2 black bulbs in it so you can see your line a mile away. I've tried the older BPS lights, but none of the newer ones. I've never had any trouble with mine and they've been on a lot of hours. Make sure you have a wide enough rail on your boat if you use the suction mount models.
  5. A good source for info is bassboatcentral.com, they have forums for every brand of boat and a section for likes and dislikes. I've fished out of and driven several different models of gamblers and like them a lot.
  6. To me that's half the fun of night fishing. I don't fish without a blacklight at night so I at least know if its a bat hitting my line instead of a perceived bite. I wish I could fish without a light but I think it helps detect bites on the fall and makes it easier to fight fish so I don't go out without at least one Sloan stuck on the side. Just tell yourself they are eating mosquitos the whole time they are swarming around the boat.
  7. I've owned both and currently own a G3 that is all welded. My riveted boats didn't leak, but I personally would always favor a welded boat from here on. When I was shopping the thing I liked about the G3 over a Lowe was that the G3 was built from thicker aluminum than the Lowe for the particular model I wanted.....probably overkill for the average situations we fish in.
  8. Couldn't you find a prettier model for your picture? I'm just jealous that you boys are out chasing them and I'm not!
  9. The marina is open. I was there around noon on Wednesday and purchased my 2008 sticker. I guess this is the last year that it will be $5, its supposed to be $15 next year. The phone number for the marina is 833-2058.
  10. Boat permits are available at the Dock on Fellows Lake. They expire April 15 each year.
  11. It was a grass pickerel and if it was a foot long that was a nice one!
  12. Unless you do a lot of deep water fishing and want the larger screen, you have all the power and clarity you need with a X135. Save your money and learn how to run your 135 in manual mode.
  13. Speaking from experience, if any of you want a great deal on a four stroke motor, take advantage of one of these units. Price a similar unit on ebay or other sources and you'll see how good these motors are priced. I'm very satisfied with the motor I bought from Phil.
  14. Check with F 'n A marine in Camdenton, MO. They have a ton of recycled parts and are good guys to deal with.
  15. After reading a post about the book "Buried by Table Rock Lake" I emailed the author Tom Koob and ordered both of his books. I haven't quite finished the first one, but it is a very interesting book with details about the entire lake along with great historical photographs. Thanks for the recommendations, its great winter reading.

    Ventris Ramp

Its been a few years since I've used that ramp and I don't remember a courtesy dock. It is a good ramp, but I don't remember the road being marked very well going there.
