  1. I have never intentionally shortened a rod. However, I have shortened many in a car door...
  2. It is important if you are trying to tie as it should be tied. Not so important if you are tying just to catch fish...It is always fun to tie classic fly patterns as they have been tied for years. But when it comes to fishing them...close is good enough...
  3. I would suggest this works, because, Tube Baits, like some Shad, die off as the water cools, making for an easy meal...
  4. I have some time the week of Thanksgiving, I will try it then...thanks
  5. Is it to early to fish Capps Creek? Took one trip down there last November and it was WINDY and rainy. Not much luck, as in skunked, but would like to give it a few more tries this year...I was thinking after the leaves have left the trees and stream?
  6. Price, Price, Price...If I need help finding something, I will ask. Don't follow me around offering your "advice". However, if I purchase something, and it isn't what I wanted or it is faulty, I'm all about customer service...Is that so wrong?
  7. It was rainy, but I went anyway. I did not go up the river towards the park, time issues, but did fish from the first entrance point to the middle point. 1 rainbow and 2 browns. Both browns came on dries on consecutive casts. Fun day in the river in the rain. I had it to myself... Used some floatant for the first time and it worked great. Flies floated high.
  8. Most likely I will go tomorrow and was planning on heading upstream, under the bridge and towards the spring. At what point do I have to stop because of the park. I figured with the low water, I may be able to go right to where the spring enters the river. Anyone know?
  9. caught it at Fellows Lake on a jig with craw trailer...go figure...
  10. Good out this way...bought a fresh bag of pink worms and headed to Stockton...
  11. Caught my first Musky today, all of about 18". Gotta start somewhere I guess. Was a very pretty marked fish...
  12. I caught a 12"er Friday and was THRILLED!!!!!!!!! But, I'm easy. If the quality of your fishing trip is judged by the amount and size of your fish, you're doing something wrong.
  13. Fished today...4 browns and 1 rainbow...one of the browns was a 12"er...caught 3 of em on top...fun...
  14. They were mowing or something up by the 64 Bridge and the river was full of weeds today...made for tough fishing...did catch a few...
  15. What happens on BP, stays on BP...
  16. personally...I think Charles is done...He may have a few good games early, then run out of gas...I really am a chiefs fan...7-9 at best...

    Chiefs!

Chiefs 17 Bills 13....What you think?
  18. Thanks...I am not familiar with the regulations on Taneycomo...slot restrictions are a good thing, but they suck in these situations...
  19. OK...I gotta ask...You did eat the fish didn't you?
  20. Yep...it's just a fancy name for a bobber...that being said...nice goggle-eye...where there's goggle-eye, smallmouth can't be far...
  21. I grabbed my felt soled waders, and headed to the Niangua this morning. Started out with a hopper/dropper, and the hopper won. Mostly small browns, with a few stocker sized rainbows thrown in for some color. First time with this set-up, and I do see some potential...

  23. Fished today, fish were really hitting short on me...only landed 2 rainbows and no browns...Flung some big honkin hooks and feathers for about an hour...then switched to more "conventional" flies...Great day on the river, traffic was minimal...tried some salmon egg flies for the first time...I think they like em...but I don't...
  24. I thought I saw a Jackalope once...they are so elusive...
