Now that you mention it, at this point, I probably buy most of my fishin stuff online. I have many favorite small tackle shops I buy from other than the "big box"places.

Geez, I own a hurricane deck boat with seats on the fore deck with my fish finder and live well. Wife likes to sit in comfortable boat and read while I sit up front and fish. What ever works! Happy wife Happy life. Im just happy to have a boat.

Wife & I are coming down down toTR this summer and we are looking at fish hook resort. Anyone have any input on the place. We'll pull the boat down and dump it in for 10 days. We have stayed at a place way up the James and another place way up the White. We have never stayed so far down lake. Fish Hook is right around point 7. Always have been told that the fishing sucks in september, but we like that time of year. Less crowds & a little cooler. THANKS, Bob.

I have always stayed on TR, but was thinking we would like to try beaver. Would like some recommendations for a nice resort for the wife and I. Would be pulling my boat down, so a nice dock and assessibilty to it would be nice. Wife fish's some, but needs a pool and comfortable cabin, shopping and stuff, if you get my drift. Have to keep her happy while I go out and burn baits!

Com'in down in 2 weeks on Oct 3rd for 10 days. Been told fish'in sucks in October. Sure hope the bite stays on. I'll check with ya'll soon and see what the patterns been.

I will be coming down to the rock the first part of Oct. Staying in shell Knob area. Is this typically a good walleye area? I have always stayed up the James river arm by the hideaway marina. I have never made it that far to shell Knob in my boat and I am unfamiliar with this area as far as fishing goes. Wife and I are seriously considering retiring down there and want to check out the shell Knob area. Any thoughts?.... Thanks

After rais'in my kids for 20 yrs.,I finally get to vacation [fish] the rock in the fall. Coming down oct. 3-13. Been coming down for 25 yrs. and always in the heat of the summer when kids were'nt in school. Now I read that in sept. and oct. its a crap shoot and I have to hunt for them in 1' to 70' feet of water! I always thought the fall would be an awesome time to fish the rock and that little tidbit burst my bubble! Tell me it aint so! There must be some sort of a fall pattern, or do I just hunt & peck? -
