  1. KR I don't have any of the multi type lines, but I do have some sinking mono poly leaders that I use occassionaly. (they come in various sink rates) I use a loop to loop to the flyline to attach. I haven't noticed hinging, but they can be hard to cast typical of a sinking tip, or full sinking line..The poly leaders are less expensive than the interchangable tips...Airflow sells them and also Cabelas...I also think that Feathercrafts in St. Louis has them.or even their own brand...But Phil may have them also.....Dano
  2. Steve Is it a little more supple compared to heavier mono typically used for leader butts? Just seems it would make better loop to loop connections.
  3. A layer of ice, then about 5 inches of snow, with new snow still falling at 0936 hrs in Harrison. Dano
  4. Does anyone use amnesia as leader butt material?. If not what do you use it for? ..Dano

    Pico De Gallo

One of my office colleagues passed this on to me. PICO DE GALLO 4 small ripe tomatoes, diced (romas work well) 2-3 small cloves garlic, minced 1/2 bell pepper, chopped 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro 1/4 cup chopped red onion 3-4 fresh jalepenos, minced juice of 1/2 lime (or juice from 4-5 key limes) 1/2 teaspoon salt, or more to taste combine all in a bowl and mix well. He says he makes it an hour or two ahead of time and lets it sit in the fridge so the flavors meld. Dano

  17. And Phil it happens in All Courts, down this way too. It has to start in your legislature. There has to be manadatory sentencing guidelines before it will work. Don't count on any of that happening. ..Dano
  18. I know tippet is not gonna blow smoke in your face. He is talking about giving everyone their space. We do that in everyday conversation and meeting on the street. Everyone has their own comfort zone. I challenge anyone to smell a cigar 25 yards downrange outside anywhere. Dano
  19. My suggestion: Big Old honking signs at each river access touting in effect the illegality's of shuffling. And that at anytime an MDC agent may be watching and you are subject to being fined. Sometimes just the "threat" is as good as it actually happening. Course MDC would have to check in every once in a while to carry through. Dano Did I get my permit, uh, Did I?????
  20. Thanks...got to get some. Dano

  24. Another important point is to be sure to place a wrap on the ferrule end of the rod. As Roland said this is a very important step...you don't want the rod breaking or cracking at the ferrules. I also have found it's actually easier to build a 3 or 4 piece rod than a two piece. I like working with the shorter blank pieces and uses less room. Find yourself a good rod turner...I made one from a slow speed motor. If you have access to one of those old BBQ grill rotisserie motors that would be ideal. Let the rod turn for several hours between each time that you epoxy the wraps. Give it a good 24 hours after the drying process is completed before you try er out. Check the flext coat site, they have an excellent beginner instruction manual. Dano
  25. Thanks Wayne, I just can never remember the highway numbers That's what I get for being a geezer. Dan
