  2. Welcome Drew, glad to see you here. Dano
  3. I haven't noticed one of late, but I bet you will get someone to respond after reading your post. Dano
  4. Steve Thanks for the info. Should I get over that way, I may have to pick your brain somemore if that's ok? Dano
  5. Thanks guys, I may have to check that out one of these days. Any fly tips??? Dano
  6. Exellent...and you know I am a geezer and I am not sure I would have had the Ca...es to pull that dang barb out! My hats off to the kid for sure.
  7. Ouch! Is that at Dry Run? Dano
  8. That has got to be one memorable trip. Thanks for the pictures. Is that just outside Tulsa? Dano
  9. I never use an indicator while fishing a soft hackle. I suppose you could, but I have never seen a reason to. Dano
  10. You would be able to get to Cotter on the White in about 3 hrs., 3 and a half to Norfork. Dano
  11. Joefish I would say so. That is a good stretch. Dano
  12. Thanks Jeremy Dano
  13. I was afraid you were going to say that. Dano
  14. The only problem is that ususally you gotta know somebody or be a member to fish these gems. They are normally great for carping too! I love a good farm pond, especially if it hasn't been fished in a long time. Dano
  15. Jeremy You were speaking of a mohair leech on another thread. I for one have tied what I thought was one, but I would like to see an expert version. Dano
  16. And of course that is exactly what I have been using the loose stuff. I do have a juvenile hen cape from Conranch that ties up some nice soft hackles though. It's more of a furnace color though. I will check the class out asap to have you show me some techniques then. Thanks
  17. Thanks Brian those are logical explanations of what the MDC is probably thinking. I wonder if in time they have become more agressive though. Maybe they are ready and willing to try new things. Wish they would just purchase some brookies from the Federal hatchery at Norfork and give them a try. Dano
  18. I googled for anything about Brookies and Cuts in Missouri, and the only thing I could even come up with was an MDC publication about a disease that is monitored.... "Civiello considers this disease unusual because it can be transmitted from mother to youth through the egg. Of all freshwater trout, brook trout are affected most severely, followed by browns. Rainbows are least affected. BKD can kill a lot of trout in a very short time if not quickly discovered and treated." This would not be an issue I presume since the hatchery keeps constant check on this particular disease. Dano
  19. Good info, thanks Fox. Dano
  20. I was thinking the same. Phil might be able to give us a more indept discussion of whether it has been discussed before either by the MDC or the Branson TU.
  21. Absolutely...the White and Norfork hold both...and its exciting to get an Ozarks Grand Slam.. One of each during the same fishing trip. Dano
  22. I noticed forum member Thom is celebrating today. Have a Happy one. Dano
  23. Fox I think one of my critical issues with indicator fishing is placement of the indicator. I know the hard fast rule is 1 and 1/2 times the depth of the water, but I am not sure that should hold true. Any tips for getting the correct depth? I am a lazy fisherman and I hate adjusting and re adjusting, yada, yada, yada. What would be an example of indicator fishing your worm scud for instance. Dano
  24. To me there is no more prettier fish than the Brookie. I would love to see them stocked unless there is some ecological reason not too. Dano
