  6. Its hard to believe but OAF will be 5 years old the last week in October. Congrats to you all for making it one of the BEST outdoors forums on the WEB. Thanks to Phil Lilley's foresight to see the need for such a site where people who enjoy the outdoors come together to share and commune. A job well done. Dano
  7. I knew I had seen that 4 hole thing before. It is made by Herters and I got to digging and I have one. Mine doesn't have holes in the middle of the cups though. Dano

  9. Kyle, I do think the first picture is a devise to control the tension for thread wraps, but like you I am unsure of the others. The top picture was blurred so I couldn't read the info on the thread. Interesting pictures and I will also be interested in other comments. Dano

  14. Your spot on Buzz.....
  15. Bill Anderson and I hit Beaver at daybreak this morning. Water low, low flow, and fog shouded. Fishing was slow. We did manage a couple of rainbows a piece on small olive wooley boogers. I did fish a few midges but no takers. We fished the first access below the dam. They did stock this region on Friday we were told when we stopped by the Dam Store. Half of the time was spent sitting on a downed log in the stream chatting between two old friends and enjoying the quite and beauty of that section of the river. Dano
  16. Good on the both of you....
  17. A friend and I were discussing this and he suggested: From Tyler Bend, I don't think there are any campgrounds like he needs. He needs to look at one of the Maumees down to Buffalo Point where they have showers, hot air blowers and nice bathrooms. If he wants another day, he can start at Buffalo Point and go down to Rush the second day. I suppose he could go upriver from Tyler Bend and camp at Tyler Bend, but I've never paddled that stretch or camped there. It is very close to Highway 65. Buffalo Point is more secluded, although it is perhaps the most used campground on the river. Dano
  18. He's still alive and kickin' over in Saddle. He is always up for talking air guns too.
  19. When I started fly fishing years ago, I got this advice from a mentor. It applies to any kind of fishing in my opinion. Crippled Caddis once told me: "Sit, chill and watch. In a half hour you'll have your mind and body attuned with the cycle of nature and fish spotted along with a good idea of what to tie on first." 20. This is probably outside the scope of what you were asking but many time people stand (wade) where they should be fishing. I learned this long ago. Dano
