    I can't believe I failed to mention Dorber. I have a couple of rods made from their blanks. The best customer service ever. The first rod I ever built was a dorber blank. That is going to be your best bet. They are excellent about offering all kind of tips and also have hardware for them too. I would go with Dorber. Thanks Griz for mentioning them and kick starting my memory. Dano

    I don't know about their spinning blanks but I have used Batson rainshawdow fly rod blanks and have found them to be excellent. My favorite 4wt is on a rainshawdown blank. I don't think you could go wrong. Another one you might look at is Tiger Eye blanks. Dano

    I was at Kyles last yesterday afternoon. River is too low to float there. You could still find some deep pools that might hold some fish up river from the first canoe launch. As for Carver you have the directions right. When you get to Western Grove take 123 to the right and it will take you to Carver. You could also go to Hasty just up the road to the right from Carver.     Good grief that's expensive all around. I am just not a big fan of pay for play fishing spots stocked by the owners. Camping is out of site and cabin rentals are way out of line as far as I am concerned. It sure is a pretty place and the creek looks nice, but I bet I could have as much fun at the NF of the White, Crane, RR or one of the wild trout destinations in Mo . Dano

    I have Orvis Silver Labels. If I recall they are a couple of hundred dollars or more less expensive than the G-3's. I have had them for several years without any issues. The pair I had before were at least 5 years old and sprung a leak in the neoprene booties. I sent them back and they replaced them with a new pair. Their customer service and warranty on waders are superb. Dano
