  1. They stocked trout again this week, just a heads up!
  2. Very helpful, thanks for the info though! Their site says they will be stocked after the managed deer hunts which end on November 18th.
  3. Last year there was a phone number you could dial and get the stocking information for the Kansas City Trout program, however the number still works but the extension is invalid. Does anyone know if they changed the extension or what the process will be for this year. If I remember correctly they stocked the week of Thanksgiving last year.
  4. Terrible news, had anyone else seen this? I guess they found him near the trail at Bodarc Lake. http://www.kansascity.com/2011/06/28/2980603/mans-body-found-at-wildlife-area.html
  5. I started with the same kit (not that I am any good now lol), it's not bad at all. My only complain which I noticed after I got my Reddington outfit is that the line on the kit is poor. As soon as I got my new one I could really feel the difference of the line shooting out rather than sticking at times. That one kit from walmart I have seen, if it's the same one it doesn't even have backing.
  6. The one lane bride on Ranson road will be closing on Monday for about three months. So if that is your way of getting there make sure you find an alternate route!
  7. Spoke too soon now its a video again, different service than yesterday.
  8. Yeah on the conservation area, I just parked back by the trail and headed on in, you can also access it (on their ground) from browning road, near the archery range and off 150, after 150 it turns to private property. There are definitely fish, the ones I was catching weren't that big but it was a short and unplanned event, I just had a rod and a couple of jigs. Where is a good place to access the Little Blue (preferably near Longview/Lee's Summit) ? Sounds like fun.
  9. I have tried fishing it on the James A Reed areas, there were lots of bass, and some catfish, bluegills, and crappie. Nothing special size wise but it's still a lot of fun.
  10. I kinda wondered the same, but the guys I saw were big guys and they were sitting close to each other so I figured I would be ok.
  11. Went out Saturday or Sunday (can't remember) and there were half a dozen people at both Coot and Plover, I didn't stay long and didn't see many trout pulled out. But the ice was pretty thick, a few guys were way out on the lakes.
  12. I went out with my brother in law last week and had pretty good luck with powerbait and glo balls, mostly in the 9-11 range also, a couple were a bit over 12. May go out again Saturday if it doesn't freeze over.
  13. I have been out a few times so far since they stocked, I have had pretty good luck at Coot late, but not so much at Plover, I talked to a few people out there and they seem to have about the same experience.
  14. I see that they posted that on the web, it says it will be stocked after the last managed deer hunt, so after November 19th, I was hoping it would be sooner but owell.
  15. Has anyone fished trout there before? I see it is from November til March but I am wondering if it is stocked and ready to go on November first or not? (I'm ready to go now!) Anyway just curious about that and if you have been what kind of luck you had. Thanks!
  16. Does anyone know if fishing is allowed in the creek at James A Reed?
