I am heqaded down this comming weekend and will be on the Little Niangua. Any crappise or white bass information would be most welcome. Thanks George

There are lots of great articles under the upper tany section that explore all of the different ways to fish. Looking at them will give you lots of options, for a new person to the lake the drift rig thing is perhaps the easiest way to have success. You can also throw a 1/16 oz feather jig(up to 1/8 if the water is fast), small spoons and rapellas work well. Using 2 or 4 lb low vis green line is a real key to success.

How about 3 seconds, I am still sick over this.

I would put in at scottys to fish that stretch of the lake. If you want to catch fish, the best bet would be to get some drift rigs and float with the current (assuming generation) using nightcrawlers or power bait bouncing off the bottom from just upstream of monkey island (island on the right as you head upstream from scottys) thru Branson's landing. Check with Lamar at scottys, he will have good advice and all the bait you need. Good Luck

One more thing, I guess that there is no such thing as traveling.

Well said Al. It is hard to win when you are outscored from the line by 20. 10 of those came down the stretch, but still we outscored them by 13 from the field. Key foul calls against JT Tiller and Carol kept them on the bench for half of the second half. We needed those guys to play 32 to 36 minutes, and they only played in the low 20's. JT is a great defender and perhaps he could have shut that guard down down the stretch. Do I sound bitter? Yes I am. A shot here or there, a couple of more 3's falling and we are in the final four. Still, what a great team to watch and support.

More encouraging than the success that we all enjoy on the court is the way that he has turned around the off the court bs. I am not sure that any of us can appreciate how difficult it is to change the culture of a big time sports program and we a very fortunate to have two guys that have done it. Success will come and go, but both Coach Anderson and coach Pinkel have a established a high degree of integrity off the court/field. I am sure that there are better game coaches than Pinkel, but I will gladly live with whatever happens on the field, as long as things are handled the right way off the field. Both of these guys should have the oppertunity to coach at MU for the rest of thier careers. Did you see the look on Tillers and Carols faces after the Memphis game? This young men are focused on a goal. What a joy to watch. GO TIGERS

I would say that any time is a good time, if you learn the ropes now you could be ready for the big browns in the fall. A trip with a good guide like Bill Babler will put you miles ahead of where you were in what to use, where to use it and how to use it. Bill is very good on both lakes

Ditto to 2sheds, always ready to imprision the cpa's Semms like this was a metalirgic engineering failure to me. All metalirgic engineers should share the cost, perhaps a spiffy new 90% tax would do the trick.

Using Spinning Rods In The Wading Area
twosets replied to OSUCowboyinSPFD's topic in Upper Lake Taneycomo
Aces Terry These kind of posts are the things that keep me tuning in to the website. Good one -
I wonder if insurance would have covered this damage. That building was quite a ways from the river before the great flood of 08.

IMO the key to fishing at night is to drink plenty of coffee to stay warm. Then, you need to drink some whisky to kill the buzz from drinking too much coffee. Your presentations will be too fast if you are all jittery. When you start feeling drowsy or tipsy, drink some more coffee. You will never catch them if you are drunk. After you drink the coffee, you may need to drink some more whisky. (What were you thinking drinking all that coffee? Taking a leak with the waders on is a royal pain.) If you drink the right amount of whisky, the wader thing becomes less of a problem. Just go ahead and ler her fly, what the heck, who is going to know? You can always pretend that your waders leak. It never hurts to check your fly, under these conditions it is quite possible that you have snapped your fly off on a backcast into the trees an hour ago and have been fishing without any lure. (You can sometimes get them to bite on just a leader with no fly, but really tough to land em) On second thought, a PM to Leonard may not be such a bad idea. Good luck

http://ozarkanglers.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9269 Here is the item on times to fish. I think that Phil has contended that right now is the best time to fish.

Hey Terry The reason that I have not added anything is that I know when I am outclassed. Me trying to match your humor skills would be kinda like me trying to give Bill and Phil trout fishing tips. All I am likely to add are old jokes like: The German word for Bra - Holdsemfromfloppen That operation that some women have in San Francisco - Adadictome When I get the time I will read the whole list and try to come up with something clever, but in the end I am a numbers guy. Good stuff Phil In addition to a picture of the fly, we would be interested in the type of flyline(Floating, sinking) and the leader size and legnth . See you next week George

The water comming out of the dam is nowhere near freezing so tany is much warmer than the surface temp of other Missouri lakes in extreme cold. I have never heard of a trolling moter freezing on tany.
-
I remember one time many years ago when Phil tried to convince me to peg a bead above a hook and fish it. I did not know him that well and thought that he was maybe trying to pull my leg. I guess I should have given it a try, but I definately will give it a go the next time I am on Tany.

Howdy Phil did this video for spin fishing with jigs. You can use micro jigs under a float if you intend to use fly rods. Close to the bottom is where you want to fish them. Stop at lilly's, they can sell you what you need and may have further advice. Good luck. http://ozarkanglers.com/index.php?option=c...5&Itemid=48

Fish Habitat Below Table Rock Dam On Lake Taneycomo
twosets replied to Phil Lilley's topic in Upper Lake Taneycomo
Hi Phil Is there any discussion or merit in some redredging of the channel in the first mile or so below the dam? What are the negatives of such an action? -
Really good Stuff, Phil. Glad that you included evidence that you did not catch a fish on every cast, although it seemed at first that you might. Also glad that you were not fishing off a stranger's dock I thought that the video and camera work was just fine. Wish I wasn't so busy at work, that looks like a lot of fun. All the best to your family George

Me And Babler Are Headed To Loz For Some Crappie!
twosets replied to Phil Lilley's topic in Lake of the Ozarks
"If I may ask a question on the fishing principle not the legality issue.Do these docks have sunken trees under them or are these fish just hanging under the dock structure?" Many people on the lake build crappie beds under their docks, every year adding christmas trees or cedars. I would bet most old docks have some stuff sunk under them. In periods of low water you can really see them sticking out all over the place, even under some nice new docks. -

Me And Babler Are Headed To Loz For Some Crappie!

Good report Phil. My buddies down there said that the whites were going wild last weekend down on the little niangua. Other end of the lake from where you were. Kind of funny that your first time on the lake you caught most of your fish off the docks. I have gone on some spring trips where some guys would not even use their boats, they were catching so many like you were doing off the docks. We use 1/16 oz jig heads and those bodies that have skirts. When they would stop biting we would just change colors. Glad you boys did well
